In San Juan you can visit:
(walking distance, no car)
Old San Juan
El Morro
Paseo de la Princesa
Hard Rock Cafe
Couch store
Ralph Lauren store
Bacardi Factory (cheap ferry ride)
My husband and I along with 3 other couples hated Dominica. There is nothing to see just a two water falls right next to each other. Not worth the tour. You should visit the two or three stores in front of the port just to say you visited.

In Puerto Rico, you could visit Old San Juan, San Felipe del Morro Fort. Also could visit on Arecibo the Astronomic Observatory (if you saw the movie Contact , with Jodie Foster, that's the place), next to this are the Camuy Caverns. Shopping Plaza las Americas Mall, Beltz Outlets in Canovanas. Beaches Luquillo is beautiful, anda Isla Verde. By night disco, bar, tapas , restaurants, but also in Cabo Rojo take one of the many local boats to Bahía La Parguera for a little dinoflagellate watching. Could take flights to other island like st thomas, st croix or also Dominican Republic.

There are plenty of things to do and see.
The top attractions are:
Old San Juan - here you will find forts, the first catholic church ever built in America (San Jose), The Cathedral, City Wall, shopping, great restaurants, to visit the Bacardi Rum Distillery (they give free samples) just take the ferry from pier 1 for $0.50, there is 1 casino, and plenty of museums. It can't get more historical than Old San Juan more than 500 years old. Visit this link for a printable walking tour and more info. http://www.gotopuertorico.com/pdfs/guide...
El Yunque Rainforest - hiking trails, waterfalls, a unique experience, DO NOT MISS IT! About 35 mins from San Juan/ with no traffic!.
Culebra - sister island located on the east side, here you will find Flamenco beach 2nd best beach in US and 4th in the world, take ferry from Fajardo ( 45 mins from San Juan) $2.50 p/p.
Rio Camuy Cave Park and Arecibo Observatory Center - you can do both the same day, both located on the north side of the island, wake up early for the caves and you do not need much time for the observatory (where Contact movie was filmed), the cave park has the biggest underground river in the world - amazing.(1 hour to 1hr and 15 from San Juan)
Rincon - is a surfer's town, less hectic than the capital city, great seafood restaurants and close to Crash Boat beach (in Aguadilla/northwest) and Boqueron (Cabo Rojo/southwest), also to La Parguera where there is a bioluminicent bay (one of Puerto Rico's wonders) (2 hrs from San Juan)
Shopping - visit Plaza Las Americas Mall, the biggest mall in the Caribbean, stores for every budget, enjoy no tax until November this year.(located in Hato Rey 15 mins from the cruise ships piers)
PLEASE VISIT WWW.GOTOPUERTORICO.COM it has plenty of valuable information for your trip. But most of all ENJOY your trip!
If you are visiting the other islands as part of your cruise, two tumbs up! But if you were thinking to cut down days in PR to go to a smaller island for a coule of days... honestly it is not worth it. The beaches are beautiful with a laid back environment, but that's the only thing you can do, the beach and the sun. In PR, since it is more develped and "americanized" it brings you with more options.
