If the lady lost the papers but they were already registered with the AKC then you can contact AKC.org for copies of the registration.

Be aware though she may never have registered the dog in the first place.

Are you sure that the dog had the essential papers in the first place? I breed boxers, and one does not easily lose a pup's pedigree as, without it, the dog will not sell for half the price.

To check with the kennel club, you need to have the registration numbers of both the sire and the dam and , for those, you will have to contact the lady from whom you bought the pup.

Never pay full price for a pup without the papers, even though they are only necessary if you intend to breed.

I don't know what club you are talking about. Usually if the papers are lost then the breeder has to contact the club in which the dog is registered to. Since there are many dog clubs and each on has it's way of doing things then....I have the info for the AKC:

Lost Paperwork

I lost my dog’s registration application, and I am not the breeder. How do I get a duplicate?
Answer:
The litter’s owner is the only person who can request another copy of the dog's registration. You will need to get in touch with the litter owner and have that individual request another copy.

The litter owner will need to send us the following:

Litter Owner's Name, Address, and Signature with request for a duplicate dog registration application
2. Litter Number
3. Date of Birth
4. Breed
5. Sex of your puppy
6. $15.00 processing fee (the money can come from anyone)
A Duplicate Dog Registration Application can be downloaded here:
http://www.akc.org/pdfs/masterform.cfm
Please mail the above information to: American Kennel Club, 5580 Centerview Drive, Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27606-3390.

After we receive the information, we will print another form and mail it to the litter owner. The litter owner can then transfer the paperwork to you.

If you need the form mailed to you, please e-mail your complete name and mailing address.

Good Luck.

i'm sorry on your households loss. it is often heartbreaking once you loose a liked a puppy. Getting yet another dogs after the loss of life of dogs is diverse for each individual. some could get yet another dogs precise away collectively as others ought to attend longer. it ought to no longer be a competent thought to marvel her with a clean dogs and may well be ultimate to communicate along with her approximately it first. whilst the time is nice your mom will permit the full kin understand in her very own time. Then as a kin the alternative to get a dogs from a shield, rescue or breeder could properly be made.

she needs to get a copy not you. In the eyes of the kennel club, she is still the legal owner. I think you have been conned. Lost papers is another way of saying it doesn't have papers. There is no way YOU will be able to get them, SHE has to do it as the dog is registered in her name.

Try annd get in touch with her and ask for copies. Failing that approach the Kennel Club where you can also check that the papers are genuine. Trace The Kennel Club via internet.

No breeder loses the papers, this is the excuse handed out when the dog isn't registered.
You may have a case for the small claims court if your dog isn't registered.

Whoever the dog was actually registered to has to request a duplicate registration certificate. YOU CANNOT!

If he was actually registered with the AKC:
You can go to www.akc.org , click on STORE, then on the next page, all the way down at the bottom click on DOG LOOKUP. Select your breed and type in the name he was supposedly registered under. If it comes up "DOG NOT FOUND" you've either spelled it wrong or he was never registered. If his name does pop up, then get with the lady you bought him from and have her request a dulipcate reg. cert.

if you can find out the breeder of your dog you could perhaps contact them, and they will be able to contact Kennel club for you,or if the last owners know the dogs sire and dams names, then you should be able to contact kennel club yourself to get copies of pedigree, good luck
