Every student in our class had to say about something for 2 minutes. I said about freethought. I said nothing provocating. But she got very angry with me. My freinds are not stupid enough for not believing in evolution but they belive in God. They found nothing provocating in it. I think my teacher is an orthodox Christian. Is it why she was so angry?

I took it from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freethought

Because your free thought DID NOT agree with the teacher in question. Some people think that their way is the ONLY way and everyone else is wrong.

I'm not sure why she got angry, but I was amused by the opening sentence of that Wikipedia article:

"Freethought is a philosophical viewpoint that holds that beliefs should be formed on the basis of science...and not be comprised by authority, tradition, or any other dogma."

Science is inexorably bound up in authority, tradition and dogma!

I fear that you are not wiser than your teacher, therefore she should not be angry with you.
It is correct to try to get rid of superstitions and prejudices; but to generalize that orthodox Christians dislike free-thought is perhaps just a new form of fettered or prejudicious free-thought.

Free thought isn't allowed in school. You need to give yourself a pat on the back. Also, you might want to keep track of your grades, since retaliation is possible.

education is mind and thought control and teachers are the perveyors of this perversion.

If you were not offensive and you believe in your heart what you said was right then move on Dude..your teacher has the problem not you!

Maybe she wanted to you speak about your own ideas rather than take it from Wikipedia.

Then again, maybe it was something else she was upset about.

What did you say? You think it wasn't provacative, but everyone might not agree. Was your tone sarcastice or offensive. it is not always about words, but delivery.
