does anyone know how to pronounce these worlds in french:
Bidou,Archipel,Briquette , Daphnée, Décibel, Démétan, Laïka, Maëstro, Taïga, princesse

briquette=bree-ket
daphnee=da-fne
decibel=de-si-bel
demetan=as it is written
laika=laeeka
maestro=ma-e-stro

French pronunciation is precise. I can only think of one word that has two different pronunciations (unlike English). If you find a French speaker who will give you a quick lesson, you will be able to pronounce any French word you see. It is not something you can teach easily in this format.

I do know how they should be pronounced but it would be very difficult to try to write them as they should sound. Can you get a French cd or tape and listen to how these sounds (ou, rch, quette, née, ï, and so on) should sound.

I could write ï as in Anaïs (a name) is pronounced as Ann eye eese but would have to clarify eese as in Reese not cheese, do you know what I mean?
