No it's not in the Bible. The Bible doesn't condone that. Also it is important to mention it is not a Christian practice but rather a Catholic practice. True Christians steer away from statues.

I am going to assume that you mean "is it okay to wear some sort of symbol that represents your religions preference?"
I feel that wearing a cross necklace, pin, ring or earrings is absolutely okay.
I think that having a picture of Jesus in your home is okay.
Having a picture of the Last Supper is fine too.
However, bowing down to any of these images is considered worshiping an idol. God said not to make an idol out of anything. And an idol is something that you would bow down to.
So as long as you realize this and keep the two seperate, then you are fine.
BTW, the fish is a symbol of being a Christian. It represents the fish and loafs of bread that Jesus seperated for the multitude of people with 12 baskets of crumbs left over.
Best wishes!

The scripture clearly states "thou shall have no idols before me" meaning christians are not to serve or idolize any man-made image of god. This also applies to animals and human beings. You are not to have any idols of any kind. Icons is an idol in a lessor degree. Icon is someone or something that you treasure or cherish with your heart. That is not allowed in scripture for our God is a jealous God. The only person that I worship, glorify, praise, and honor is our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the only One who is worthy to be cherished, treasured, loved, and glorified forever and ever.

I am not sure I fully understand your question.
The Bible is a selection of stories inspired by middle eastern tales and legends. It is a collective work of fiction written over the years by many diferent writers.

An icon is a reminder of Chirst's holiness. But we must not put our trust in them. That is worshipping false idols.

No idolatry.
Icons didn't die for me - so I don't wear a cross.
the "fish" symbol isn't Christian at all - so no bumper sticker.
Jesus said .."so let YOUR LIGHT shine among men."
Face it, your all the Jesus some people will ever see, and all the Bible that some will ever read.
SHINE on!
