This is really amazing. I see guys pushing in front of the ladies all the time on the trains here just to get a seat.
My instinct is to stab these guys in the head (in true British style) and play with their blood.
But there's too many of them and I haven't got enough time (or knives).
What should I do?

By the way I am a guy!
Anyway, I thought the British were renowned for their manners.
I'm really stuggling to control my psychopathic tendencies.

I don't think it's men particularly - it's just a lot of people these days.
I get really pissed off about it actually, because the rudest people seem to be the ones you'd think the rules were there to protect.
As a big, fit bloke, I could muscle my way to the front of most mobs without too much trouble, but I was brought up to have respect for others and to think along the lines that those most in need should be afforded most help. It seems that the fat, the puny, the weak, the old and the generally unfit are also the rude, the selfish and the generally unpleasant.
It is quite amusing when I don't see them coming and they bounce off me as they try to elbow their way past - they generally open their angry little gobs to abuse me, then have second thoughts and mutter to themselves.
On occasion I use a little sarcasm, particularly on grumpy old men who try to hump your leg in queues - well that's what it feels like - theyre just trying to shove their way through.
If people like me behaved like people like them, there'd be a lot more people in casualty departments.

I catch the train to and from work every day at rush hour and i find that manners go out of the window on there!
It drives me mad when people cram onto the train before people have even had time to get off!! Its maddening!
It seems to be very man for himself rule.
I am polite myself though, and will offer my seat to and elderly lady, or gent.
Manners cost nothing people... dont be so rude!

I agree with Rhapsody. Old ladies are the worst (not all of them, though). Some of them push their way in front in the bus queue and then start to moan about the old days! You know, when you could leave your front door open etc etc etc.

Make sure your elbows are always at the ready to jab the annoying ba$t4rds! I know what you mean - but it's the guys who hit you on the back of the knees with their briefcases that really pi$$ me off - as you stumble, they push you out of the way to get on the train/tube. May they get piles...

I would prefer to give my seat to an elderly person, or let them in front of me --after all, they may be in pain or tired. Respect and kindness never hurts. If everyone did these little kindnesses our world would be much nicer.
My other priorities: Elderly men and pregnant women, or people with difficult children.

I think you'll find that on the tube in London, especially in rush hour the women are more agressive than the men. They are regularly worse. Always pushing!
However, you should just accept that the days of chivalry are almost gone. Why should a man be chivalrous to women
( unless they are pregnant or old ) anyway? Aren't we supposedly equal?
The question is why don't people show more respect to their fellow man regardless of sex.

I have never had a guy push in front of me, old ladies are the worst for it round here, they just sort of obliviously drift in front of you and who wants to tell a granny off? Not me.

It annoys the hell out of me but everybody does it these days. I feel that if i said something, at best i'd get a load of abuse and at worst, be stabbed.

unfortunately chivalry is dying out and all this women's rights has made men think that we don't want to be treated as the fairer sex.
therefore we are no longer seen as ladies but more as equals.
that's what women wanted? right?
not me! i love to be treated as a lady and luckily my partner loves it too.
any other man?? well we just have to understand that's what women's rights has turned out to be.
