Have you tried leaving her to cry? We did this with our daughter from an early age, and then again whenever she starts to wake in the night. It is horrible, but after a couple of nights she sleeps right through again.
Obviously we check on her at intervals, but never get her out of the crib, just make sure she is ok, and talk to her softly but firmly & tell her that it is still dark, and therefore we will see her in the morning for play time.
Also, could she be teething?? It may pass...
Good luck, I wish you a good nights' sleep in the near future :)

if she is crying because she wants to come to your bed or she just has no consistent schedule than I would suggest to help her get on a sleep schedule. Laying her down in her crib every night at the same time. You will have to let her cry since she is not used to this. If you just physically can't stand to let her cry then what you do is let her cry for a few minutes, go in and console her leave the room again. The next time you let her cry for a little longer and contine to repeat the process so that you are letting her cry for longer periods of time. Eventually she will fall asleep (if you don't first). Do the same thing the following nights. After a few nights of this she will understand that she is not going to get her way by crying and her body will naturally be accustomed to sleeping at this time. Also be sure to wake her up at a consisitent time in the morning too, even if she falls asleep late. Also don't let her nap late in the evening, probably best no later than 3pm for a bedtime at around 8. At 10 months she should be napping only 1 or 2 times a day.
I am a mother of two little girls myself. My girls have religously gone to bed at 8. Because of the consistency, I have no problems - they go graciously with no resistance. It is the best thing I have ever done, for my sanity and my marriage. My husband and I can always count on having some alone time at the end of the night. Good luck.

This was 100% effective with our two sons... We did the 'control crying' routine.... Note that you have to be REALLY committed to this and do not, under any circumstance, give in!
Once your child starts crying, go in and briefly comfort them (perhaps use a soothing voice, back rub, tuck them in, etc.) just to let them know you are there. DO NOT PICK THEM UP.
Leave them to cry for 5 minutes, return, then use the same comforting technique. Leave them to cry for 10 minutes, return and comfort them. Leave them to cry for 15 minutes... then return again. Keep this up, increasing the wait interval by 5 minutes each time.
It took about 3 nights (of pure hell) for each of our children - but they began sleeping through the night. The longest interval we got to was 25 minutes.
Do not try this on children younger than 6 months.
Have the husband / father do this routine as the mother is more inclined to 'give-in' - also, baby can smell mummy's milk. If the man is working, he may be more inclined to get this to work straight away!
Of course, a good and consistent bed-time routine is essential, including a bed time that allows you some time to yourself.
Hope this helps you.

After or during feeding her try singing.....We may not have the best voices but relatively the child will respond to the vibrations in your voice it may take a minute or two till they respond but usually deeper tones sooth the baby into a relaxed state. Even if you are humming they hear your voice and feel comfort in knowing that you are right there.
Good Luck!!!

Does she cry or just stay awake? If she is just laying in her crib awake, maybe put her to bed, say goodnight and leave the room. If she is crying maybe a mobile or other toy would work. The magic ticket in my house is the Aquarium Crib toy. Works like a dream.

we found with my son it was best to just let him cry. maybe cut out a nap so the baby is a bit sleepier. make sure you stay to a schedule. my 2 year old maybe running about acting crazy but we put him to bed every-night at 830 and he goes right to sleep

Let her cry, everyone has to do it eventually at some point or another. She will cry herself to sleep and it will get easier as time goes on!
