I came upon a theory today...

People with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Schizophrenia (such as myself) often firmly beleive that the voices, emotions, or feelings that they encounter due to their disorder are very, very real and a very large threat, at that.

Could this have something to do with why religious folk so firmly beleive that God exists? Are their 'miracles' just delusions?

Or is half the population inflicted with schizophrenia?

I go with delusion, in the end.

Our ignorance is God; what we know is science.
I wish these were my own words, but it is a quote from Robert G. Ingersoll.

I think God was created by religions for the purpose of control and manipulation - keeping the peasants stupid! The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike!

I believe that God exists; however, that doesn't mean that I believe he is some weird little voice in my head. The folks who believe THAT are just plain scary! Haldol, anyone?
