I like nyara_nya... answer.
I think we are all self centered evil scum when it come right down to it.

To the best of my knowledge organized religion puts Man as the head or on top of women and women are there to serve men. Some where in the New Testament one of the apostles says that he knows of many wise men (did he mean wise @$$ ? ) but no wise women.

Now as a reality check we all start off as a female 1st all of us.
All of us know or should know that the difference is that men have an X and a Y chromosome and women have 2 X chromosomes . If you look at it this way the men are missing part of an X chromosome. Which part could be debated but the fact remains that it "looks like" men are missing part of 1 X chromosome.

That would mean that women have just a little bit more than men.
This is evident in the name women .
Men are just men and are missing the wo part. That can also be spelled wow .It probably was wow-men it the past and just got shortened through time.

Boys have a higher mortality rate, They are also more likely to do stupid stuff like jump off bridges or mountain climb etcetera.

It has only been fairly recently that wow-men have tried to show that they can be just as stupid and tried to do the same sort of stuff.
And even when they do this sort of stuff they make sure that some man has done it before. If some idiot is going to die doing something might as well be a man.

But seriously men have some qualities that are better than wow-mens and wow-mens have some qualities better than men.

Men are better at spacial orientation and hand eye coordination and wow-men have better hand dexterity and color identification, they are also better at social skills.

There was a comedy bit about this & evolution in which women spent the whole day talking & picking berries while men spent the whole day quite watching for game , hunting and giving each other hand signals. Ever wonder who invented giving someone "The Finger"? Now you know.

Men are generally taller , That would give them GREATER Height, They also generally weight more that would give them GREATER Weight so I guess in that respect men are greater.

God created man in His image. Adam was created first. Then God created a women name Eve from Adam's limbs while he was alseep. The purpose of Eve (women) was to be with Adam so that man should not be alone. But it was the woman (Eve) who caused Adam to sin by giving him a fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (eating from that tree was forbidden by the Lord) .

There is no reference in the bible regarding which gender is greater. (However a married women must submit completely to their husbands. And husbands are commanded to love their wives unconditionally).

As a man you probably have more opportunities to experience spiritual growth but they aren't inherently better than women. If I had to choose before incarnating I would always choose to be a man unless my karma decreed otherwise.

It depends:

The genders are equal, they are just good at different things.

At multi-tasking, conversation, cleaning, flexibility, cooking, arriving at odd conclusions, nursing young, dramatic statement making, quieting the babies, and gossip it is the woman.

At fighting, running, logic, smoking the hookah, quiet, organizing in a way that actually leads to progress, and genral knowing of things it is the man.

Hm.. a lot of religions specify one over the other; typically that men are better than women.

A few of the more intelligent religions now say that men and women are equal, as they compliment eachother, which makes perfect sense.

And I say: it doesn't matter. In the end, we all suck.

Why does one have to be greater. They are different halves of the whole. One completes the other.

Neither . As both have their own strengths and weaknesses.
It is only because we live in Patriarchal societies that we think the male is superior.
