Have you recently looked through your music and realized that some of it was satanic and you didn't know it?
I ask this because I was recently on a website that told me about Led Zeppelin and the lyrics of their songs coming from the teachings of Aleister Crowley and were very satanic. I am from that era and really liked this group, but threw away my Led Zeppelin collection, along with Ozzy Osbourne and some others.
Have any of you done this and didn't want to at first but felt convicted if you didn't?

I didn't throw this music away until I listened to the lyrics myself and found it to be true.

After I became a Christian I threw away music from Guns 'n' Roses and Metallica and other bands like these.

I don't believe in Christian Hard Rock or Christian Heavy Metal (like P.O.D.). It's contradictory, because for some reason some kinds of music belong to the devil. I think the more music is peaceful and harmonious, the more it can draw you into God's presence. To my opinion, these bands will rather draw Christians into the world than convert people to Christ.

I'm hoping and praying that God will give Christians a new kind of music, I've heard a prophetic message that it will come. A kind of music that will have a positive impact in the way rock music has a negative impact, and this without being boring.

I believe God wants us to live pure and holy. The more we learn from God about His glory, His authority, His holiness, the more this secular rubbish will lose its attraction on us.

Every time the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future...

Born again is a term that has been associated with evangelical renewal since the late 1960s, first in the United States and then later around the world. Associated perhaps initially with Jesus People and the Christian counterculture, born again came to refer to an intense conversion experience, and was increasingly used as a term to identify devout believers. By the mid 1970s, born again Christians were increasingly referred to in the mainstream media as part of the Born Again Movement. there is a quote "to entre heaven you must be born again" I cant find any reference to this in the bible. Born Again, Evangelical and Fundamentalists christians are very similar, if not the same. They all push a narrow biblical view that marginalizes people who differ from their belief system. My opinion of them - Unfortunately they are non thinkers who follow with blind faith.

Thanks for this. There are many pieces of music in circulation that are pure Satanic in nature but the gullible audience are apparently not aware. Satan uses his crusaders to catch the person who is 'asleep'. The lyrics of some of the songs we hear are not intended for Christian soul nourishment but to attract them deep into Satanism. You will even find that most of the sacred music we used to hear long time ago are no longer 'in fashion' and many so called gospel musicians do not go for them. Secularism is now the in-thing and you will find music that has been distorted being labeled as gospel. If you take some of the gospel music and play them without the lyrics, you will be forgiven to believe that they are secular. So, Yes, I have had to do a lot of soul-searching to do away with some of the music I have. Top on the list are the so called metal and heavy metal, some pop music, Reggea, Ragga and rock. Beware, they can take you back to Satanism. Lets stick to what we are comfortable with and not what gives us doubts.

If secular music is your ephod then I applaud you for removing it but although it is true Alastair Crowley was a satanist and jimmy page held a fascination with him that in no way necessitates the idea that one will go to hell just by listening to Zeppelin. If you are fairly myopic, however then you should consider branching out and exposing yourself to the whole panoply of music that God has given us to enjoy. While rock is an excellent genre it is not the only one.

Peace to you

I am a born again christian and it depends on what God is leading you to do. What might be right for you, may not be right for me. It is the direction he wants you to go in, that you follow. If that means, he wants you to quit listening to certain music, then yes, throw it out. If it means he wants you to stop smoking, then yes, quit. I heard another born again christian tell me, what might be ok in my house, might not be ok in yours. I do know that Led Zeppelin (that looks funny), did have some lyrics from Alister Crowley's teachings and I also heard that one of them, lived in his house / castle or what ever it was. Anyway, that's beside the point. If God let you to have a guilty feeling for listening to something then, you did the right thing.

Yes i agree with you. Some time back my church demonstrated the music played backwards and it was very scary. It encouraged you to worship the devil. Most of the heavy metal groups have these. I know Eagles famous song 'Hotel California' is also evil cause that hotel is a place where they used to worship the devil. And if you really listen to the lyrics it says :welcome to the hotel California, its a lovely place. So just be aware on what you hear. Another incident was a testimony from a teenage girl that wanted to committ suicide due to problem in her love life (3rd part involved) and when she heard Sir Cliff Richard's song 'Devil Women' she changed her life. That song changed her life. She was more closer to God. So yes, songs/music do have impact on us. Cheers!

You are right on!!! Music is so influenced by Satan - all the way around! As some scholars believe Satan was the angel in charge of worship while he was in heaven, that is why the thought that it is so heavily influenced by him. And yes, the 2 artists you named are followers of Satan and it was very wise of you to get them out of your life.
Before I came to Christ I loved all music. Any and every kind....I had hundreds of tapes and CDs of various music styles. When I first came to the Lord, Rap was the first to go....then I felt convicted listening to Rock, then Country, then Contemporary, finally Oldies was the last to go. Today I enjoy the worship of Jesus in many forms. I like old Gospel, Contemporary, etc.
Bless you for listening to the voice of the Spirit - keep it up!!!

Some will tell you that the music or album covers or artist doesn't matter, that they can't affect you.
My pastor says "Don't go looking for a demon under every rock; know that there are already two there."
Ask God for Wisdom and discernment as you are searching through your possessions. Know that some "would be" Christian artists are not Christian at all, but posing.
The enemy of your soul is subtle, and tricky - but he is also predictable, fallen and beaten by your savior and mine, JESUS.

I used to listen to Rage Against the Machine and Rob Zombie, then I found Christian rock and threw away my old CDs.... But now I realize that my faith is stronger than that kind of music, so I recently bought some Metallica and Rage again, and it doesn't upset me. Sure you know its not Christian music but imagine if you only got "Christian" things. Clothing from Christian companies, computers from Christian companies, etc etc etc. There is a difference between liking the music and agreeing with the message. And even so, even if the message is contrary to Christianity, maybe you can learn things from what they are trying to say. Everything is capable of producing some good.
