No way Dude. IT is against the law. Unless you own a zoo,or you are a Native American Indian. Or you own a Rehab. for injured animals and the eagle you have can not be turned out back into the wild. Or you are a naturalist who teachs people about the wild birds of America, And you have a license for it.

If you are in the United States there are serious federal laws against keeping native birds as pets. It is possible to get permits if you are a falconer or a wildlife rehabilitator, but they are not easy to get.

Keeping a bird of prey is not like having a dog. You cant get purina eagle chow at the local pet store. It requires a huge commitment of time, space and money. The birds of falconers are not "pets". I would suggest you find a local falconer, if you are serious, and see just what is involved.

As said, please don't do this. Even if it were possible, I believe that keeping birds as pets is the cruellest thing possible. Birds should be free to fly, swoop and travel as far as they like. I cannot bear to see caged birds, or large birds of prey tethered to the ground by one foot.
Their entire existence should be one of complete freedom to do what comes naturally.

Being the nations bird. It may be illegal to do so. Anything is possible. If you are a licensed trainer, and have room for it or a sanctuary, it may be possible.
