My friends Holly and Jim met eachother a few years ago. They fell in love, something that happens a lot after a few dates. They continued dating and waited nicely with having sex until they were married.

Every sunday they go to church and they worship their God. For some reason God didn't give them any children. But they travelled to an Ethiopian orphanage to adopt two orphans.

Jim works as a doctor in a well-respected hospital, Holly is a volunteer for Unicef. Their kids are some of the happiest kids I've ever seen.

Weirdly enough, on this forum I always read that according to some old book they will end up in hell. Anybody can tell me why? Is it really simply because both Holly and Jim are male? Sounds so silly to me...

It's not what's wrong with them, Markster. It's what's wrong with blind ignorance. As Ben Franklin once said "Being ignorant is not so much a shame as being unwilling to learn." That's why I call it blind. Why learn when one can reference the Bible as a reason for one's prejudice and antipathy. Why fight injustice? Seems God didn't.

Thank goodness for people like Holly & Mark. And shame on those who would rather see these children suffer and die than be adopted by homosexuals! You are an abomination to society.

The Bible mentions the word "homosexuality" once. It also says "Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man." (Numbers 31:17-18). The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 & Psalms 137:9). And I'm only speaking of the NEW Testament! Why aren't these things still in practice today? Wuzzat? Oh, times have CHANGED, you say. Shame the hatred of homosexuals hasn't. Neither has child abuse or women's rights. People are angrily afraid of that which they are most ignorant about.

Anyway, Mark, peace, love & happiness to you, your friends and their children. I try to keep my cool, but this homosexuality thing with Bible-thumpers (amongst others) is devastatingly ridiculous. It's like Hitler's propaganda against the Jews. It makes me ill. A website you may enjoy:

Your friends won't end up in Hell. People use the bible as a means of hiding behind their Homophobia.

And one thing that people get scared of is the unknown.

A lot of people refuse to think outside the square they live in.

There is nothing wrong with being Homosexual. What someone else does in their sex lives is no one else's concern but the people involved.

Just for the record I am straight.

I wish your friends all the happiness for the future.

My friend goes to an Episcopalian church where two of the male priests are married to each other. I doubt anyone in that congregation would think your friends are going to Hell.

(Holly is an odd name for a man...)

David pretended he was crazy in 1 Samuel 21:13. But David had a great reason for doing what he did.

Well I guess they can never have children due to obvious reasons.

I never really understood whatever reason will you end up in hell. I think its common for people (especially extremists) to misinterpret the meaning of the book or the bible sometimes if that's what you were referring to. I would also ignore these.

Where is Hell anyway?, Does anybody seen it or been there?...Hell is in the mind of a person. Neither Heaven or Hell does not exist, it is on your mind where you want to be or will be.

there are two whole verses in the entire bible chastising homosexuals and 367 chastising heterosexuals--does God love homosexuals more? or does he think heteros need more supervision?
