You can follow the teachings of each and just don't use a label on yourself. Why call yourself a Christian or a Buddhist? Just follow the teachings that you are attracted to and those that sit right with you. Many religions were started by selecting parts of other religions. Start your own! Be a ChristaBud!
Rock on, Mama!

Absolutely...You can be a Christian and a Buddhist at the same time... Becuz, religion is just another way...to get close to God. From more than 10.000 years ago, our ancester found a lot of ways to get in touch with God. Most religion teach to do good things and not to do bad things. Some do it in other ways, like thru Yoga or Samadhi (meditation). But if you realize, it's all have one purpose...to get in touch with God.
Buddhist maybe seems to others not pray to God...but don't get wrong. If you reach enlightment (true enlightment), it could be mean that you walking side-by-side with God.
It's very true that every religion are different. But that doesn't mean that one religion is right and others are wrong. Every religion is right, they only on a different level. I give an example : some on elementary school, some on highschool and some in university. Off course a children at elementary school have different point of view with a teenage in highscool. But that doesn't mean that the children or the teenage are wrong. Both of them are right, but they only on a different level. Something like that, I guess...
By the way, I'm not a buddhist, I'm a Hindu. But I do have a great respect and believe in the words of Siddharta Gautama (Buddha) and Jesus Christ.

Buddhists have a God conciousness but do not deny or confirm a belief in ANY God. God simply is not important to spiritual enlightenment. Buddhists believe that God is irrelevant.

A Buddhist monk is far different from a Christian priest physically as well as spiritually, but a true Buddhist is exactly the same as a true Christian.
To me the true believer is he who learns and practices the divine teachings of the Prophets, not he who wears the labels or performs the rituals.
The One True God is God for all mankind whether they believe Him or not.

This would have to be a pretty difficult synthesis.
Christianity, by and large, is focused upon Christ as a means of salvation. Salvation, in this sense, refers to reconciliation with God and entry into Heaven.
Salvation, in the Buddhist sense, means liberation from spiritual/material dualism and direct perception of reality. The Buddha is, of course, the teacher of this path.
Christian salvation is attained through faith.
Buddhist salvation is attained through realization over time.
The salvation intended is different; the teacher of salvation is different; the means of salvation are different. One could say that Heaven is really just another word for Nirvana - but I don't think that's fair to either Buddha or Christ. That might just be me, though.
All the best,
Laz

I don't think so. But christians CAN and DO practise zen.
I practise zen six days a week; but I am not buddhist.
Buddhism does not talk about God at all. but Buddhism also does not say there is NO God.
So the path of Buddhism is more of an agnostic path than saying God exists or doesn't

No, I just read a book about a Buddhist who came to Christ. He started with a meditation course in India and met the Dalai Lama twice. He describes his inner search for peace and the emptyness he felt when meditating. After walking the 'path of enlightment; for over ten years, he let Jesus into his life.
It was only then that he realized how mean Buddhism is. It draws you into a void, an emptyness where you can be very lonely. This in contrary to God who wants to have a personal relationship with us. He longs for interaction with His children. In Buddhism there is no 'personal' God. But God really cares about us. He loves us.
And one other important difference is that in Buddhism you have to earn your salvation (by meditation, getting yourself under control) while in Christian belief salvation is a free gift which you can accept or deny.

No. To be a "Christian" is to follow the teachings of Jesus from the Bible.
to be a Buddhist is to follow the PHILOSOPHIES of the Man, buddha.
buddha could never promise the end of death as Jesus could.
