well it was the chicken if you are a christian, in Genesis 1: 24, it saids God created livestock and other animals. not eggs.

Unquestionably the egg.
Presumably chickens came about as a bird mutation. That would mean the egg came first. And I am allowing that God created chickens along with the rest of us.

It definitely depends what you believe in; how the earth was formed. But I think that it makes sense scientifically to say that the chicken most likely came first because it was some kind of mutation of another bird that evolved into the chicken we know and love today. :D

I have heard this question posed many times and finally came up with a suitable answer..The amoebas ..first out of the sea to come to land to go into production of all the species of life so I would say amoebas first then the chicken
