I would recommend Majorca, although the bellvue complex is nice its expensive and a bit of a walk to the beach, Santa ponsa beach club do good deals and great for kids only part of Majorca i would stay away from is Porto pollensa, for the more retired type, palma, for the teenagers, fanals in costa brava outside lorrett is very family orientated, but the beach is a bit stony its your choice.

If the kids don't mind either way and there is plenty for them to do in both places I would go to the place that you really want to go. Majorca sounds nicer than Butlins and the weather will be better.

If they are aged 2 and 4 then its more what you want, bearing also in mind that you have to protect their skin from the sun.
If they are happy at Butlins with all the childrens activities laid on then go there but you also need a holiday so choose something that you want and then make sure it would suit the ages of your children.
Young children love sand and sea, not much else and when mine were that age we went to crete. The locals love children and we were never treated so well. Take care with the time you go as the school holiday period is expensive and also the hottest which means you may spend a lot of time making sure the children are covered up. At these ages you might be able to go "out of season" to say the Canaries where its always hot but not as hot as the Med and save money.
Have a good time.

Majorca every time. It's just like Butlins but it's warmer.

Gosh, I must be a really tight so and so. I'd go to Butlins - if they liked both places equally then why spend the extra money going abroad? Last year we talk our daughter to Brixham in Devon (about 18 miles from where we live!) and she loved it!

As they are so little they will enjoy anything if you do, so go for the option that suits you best. But watch the sun in Majorca.

we always go to alcudia in majorca..its family oriented, cheap and cheerful. flat, so no hills for those buggys, people are friendly and the beach is out of this world and very safe. you can e-mail me if you want more details :-)
