YES you can go with out hijab, it is very common for non muslim women to not wear hijab. By Saudi Law you only have to cover your body. But if a girl doesn't cover herself she is looking for a lot of attention from men, and saudi men are horny and are looking for any piece of a$$.

Why on earth would you be going to Saudi to visit if you weren't muslim? It's not exactly the recreational center of the world.

I stayed there for a month (mostly in Makkah, a little in Jeddah). In Jeddah, some women wore really lose scarves barely draped over their heads, but none wore shorts, tight pants, or anything like that. If you're going for a hopeful vacation, I'd suggest Dubai. They are far more liberal and there is waaaay more "fun" stuff to do there.

Even if you aren't breaking a law by dressing less modest than is the social norm, you will most likely get some dirty looks, and I've even heard of some women being loudly admonished by women wearing the traditional clothing.

People confuse between the government policy and the society "morals" in Saudi Arabia. You should first distinguish between and "immoral" act that the society doesn't accept and the acts that violate laws and require a governmental system to interfere (police for example).

A girl going out without any kind of hijab is not accepted in Saudi tradition (morals). Saudis are very different from Americans. They have different morals and ethics. So some of our traditions will seam tough for you but they are part of our identity.

Saudi Arabia is extremly religious. The government is based on Shariah Laws (Islamic Laws). It is a crime for a Muslim girl or woman to go outside without wearing the abaya and hijab. If the religious police catch you they'll only tell you once to cover up. If they catch you again you'll be thrown in jail for 2 days.

I worked for few months in Saudi Arabia, and i can tell you, it is STRICT! But there are some differences between the different cities. Actually in the east, on the Persian golf you have more tolerance, so a girl can, in a mall, not have her hair covered, although it will look odd. Same thing applies on the red sea in the west, in the city of jeddah where a lot of foreigners live. In addition to that, you have everywhere in the country some residential areas for foreigners, called compounds where girls can go out dressed the way they like.
The only advantage in all this is that if a guy tries to annoy a woman in the street, he will be in biiiiig trouble with the police!
Despite all this, it is really a verrrry tough place, because until today, women do not vote, and even do not have the right to drive

With my all due enjoy, yet it relatively is kinda a stupid question, permit me permit you realize why. once I first replaced into authorized for green card, i used to be pronounced that i mandatory to obey united statespolicies in view that it relatively is the region i would be staying and persons around me assume me to obey their usa's suggestions. It made all sense and did no longer argue in any respect. Why in hell might you argue a ruling in one greater usa, its their usa, their land they do what they choose. Whats unfair to me, is which you purely settle for the actuality that your usa could make their policies, notwithstanding you do no longer settle for that Saudi Arabia could make their very own suggestions.. it is their lifestyle they often assume persons to obey their lifestyle whilst they provide the impact of being for suggestion from them. Now, the stupid factor on your question, is which you're associating this to Islam, like a propaganda, particular, Islam says that Muslim women human beings will ought to positioned on hijab, notwithstanding it says no longer something approximately non-Muslim women human beings. If Saudi Arabia opt to enforce it on their land, it relatively is their business corporation. i in my opinion do no longer purely like the belief yet i does no longer question it or say its unfair. Many (properly, maximum of) diverse Islamic international places do no longer enforce hijab. And FYI, hijab purely isn't compelled in Saudi Arabia, the Abaya is (that's a loose long dress). BTW, i'm no longer Saudi and the place I come from should not be even practically Saudi Arabia

I believe if u r seeking the truth, rather than reading a book written by a swiss, is talk to a saudi. I happen to be one and I am not going to repeat a best answer here given by Kalel. Emmortal was right too, but that is irrelevant to the question. Please, if you don't know, do not assume. there is a reason why this is called questions and answers.

All cities are "Religious" in Saudi Arabia but i will have to note that it has to do with their ancestors traditions rather than the religion. they have tailored religion to fit their tradition.
