So I know this is not strickly a religious question, but I don't care.
Anyway if you have seen the movie or even read the book, (which I haven't yet, but I plan on it) do you realy think the whole world would decend into chaos if no more babies were born.
Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

Since there are currently over 6 billion people on the planet and controlling our fertility has been the bane of our existence since we first discovered what caused pregnancy and childbirth, I think the entire premise of the book and movie are false. No amount of toxins seem to effect ENOUGH people's fertility to warrant a fear that infertility will become even more widespread than it currently is. It would take widespread terrorism (a component of the movie and book) PLUS a plague the likes of which we haven't seen in many generations. Another plague, similar to the bubonic plague, coupled with terrorism, more wide spread poverty, expansion of curable diseases, etc, may help make another dent into the human population, but again, I doubt it.

And, no, I don't believe that the world would descend into chaos if no more children were born until the population truly did dwindle. However, we would have a LONG way to go since there are currently 6+ billion people already on the planet.

Consider how close we came to it two years ago. We had a rapid spread of a new variation of the Mumps. In males, Mumps causes sterility. Fortunately, they found the two women who were spreading it and quarantine them.

For the last 30 years, we've been seeing a rapid drop in the number of male babies. It has gone from 66% to less than 50%. This while at the same time, their death rates have gone up. Aside form war, males are now 700 times more likely to die on the job than a woman.

In the last five years, males under the age of 12 have begun committing suicide at a higher rate. Prior to that, the suicide rates for both genders was the same until puberty, than it when up 1600% for males.

Consider what this will go for our society, with less men to do the jobs women simply refuse to do, in any significant numbers. What if you could no longer flush your toilet, because the sewer lines were plugged up? What if you couldn't turn on a light, because there was not enough coal or oil to run electric plants? What if you had to grow your own food, because there was not enough men to till the field and plant the crops?

Yes, society could very well collapse. A great deal of the joy of our lives comes from the simple matter of watching children play, and wondering when it was that we could no longer fall on our butts without feeling it for days later. Children bring joy and hope to our lives.

Without it, what is left, except maybe getting drunk every night. As a cab driver, I see it in the growing segment of our society who are choosing not to have children. They are in their 30s, heading for 40, and the highlight of their week is going out to the bars.

bypass on your community library and ask for tips employing a e book they could have there called a "dictionary". Ask them that can assist you you come across the word "guy". it is going to teach you that the word could have a connection with an grownup male. yet that it additionally could be used to consult from any member of the human race even with gender or age. regrettably, interior the English language there does not exist a regularly agreed on word to hold that meaning of "the finished human race" that doesn't even have the connotation of the two gender or age. whilst the Bible is employing the word "guy", it is touching on the finished human race in those passages, and not attempting to distinguish between adults and young infants.
