and all of us here on Yahoo do not know who Dave is or why you care about his Moms' sentence.

If the case is closed, you can do a legal search online and bring up the case. You'll be able to read the whole thing. If the case is still open, then there will be no paperwork. Or, you can go to the city or county clerks office and ask. Tell him you are a friend of the family...or a cousin, and you've not heard anything because you were overseas on business and you're worried about them.

If you commit a crime, then you should be helped to get
back on your feet when you return to society, or you will
become a repeat offender, that is why a 3 or 4 strike
system is important......So that you learn from your mistake
and do not repeat it and if you do than you get a higher
sentence, you cannot expect leniency if you have not paid
for this, or repaid society at large..........................................
