I heard that the American Catholic church is trying to break away from the Catholic church of Britain and they want to implement things (like sexual things.) My source is very unreliable, so I was hoping for some confirmation. thanks.

Souce was from my history teacher.
He told us however to not believe anything he says because anything he says can possibly be false. He encourages our personal exploration of the topics of discussion which is what I am trying to do. And it is the Roman Catholic Church. I apologize for my stupididity.

The Catholic Church lead by the Pope is a growing faithful community of over 1.1 billion world wide believers.
Every now and then a few misguided people break off and start their own "Catholic" Church of this or that. They do need our prayers but do not be fooled.
There is no American Catholic Church or Catholic Church of Britain that is associated with "the" Catholic Church.
With love in Christ.

Protestant Churches also call themselves Catholic. The Church of England, which is Catholic but not Roman Catholic, and is not in Communion with the Roman Catholic Church is called the Anglican Church. The Episcopal Church is the Anglican Church in America. The only Church that can be considered part British and part American Catholic is the Anglican or, in America, called the Episcopal Church. It is okay to say that there is the Roman Catholic Church in Britain, or the Roman Catholic Church in the United States, even though by saying this you are not dividing the Church by anything but geographical Dioceses and Archdioceses. The use of these terms are to discuss what may be happening in certain countries within the Roman Catholic Church. For instance: The Roman Catholic Church in Scotland has seen a lot of converts to the Faith. The Roman Catholic Church in China is underground, yet there is the Catholic Church, which calls itself Roman Catholic, in China, but it lets the Chinese government lead it rather than the Vatican. So, it is not in Commmunion with the world-wide Roman Catholic Church. (There may be hope that things will change for these people.) The Roman Catholic Church in the United States has this website for the Bishops (each Diocese has a Bishop.) USCCB ... United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Go to this site for information on what the United States Bishops might be writing about! This site is very important! The Bible is there, the catechism ... all searchable. You see, the R. C. Church and the Protestants may say the same creed ... all of this is good ... but the R. C. Church has a catechism that will also add to your knowledge of the Catholic Church. Got it?! Great!

The Catholic Church in the US is not breaking away from Rome. This is what is going on: The Catholic Church & the Anglican Church (called Episcopalian in the US) are very close in beliefs & religious rituals. The primary difference is that the Anglican & Episcopal churches do not believe that the Pope is head of their church. What else that they have in common is the belief that the communion bread is the body of Christ & that the wine is his blood. Because of this belief the faithful can receive communion in each other's churches.
What has happened here in the US with the Episcopal Church is that a large segment of the church has okayed women to be priests & bishops. It appears that the Episcopal Church is splitting apart because of this issue.
The Catholic Church has stated that if the Episcopal Church follows thru on female clergy that our closeness will no longer be reciprocal.

I've never heard of that. It does seem that your source is a little unreliable. Really, Catholic Church's in both America and England are not that much different in their teachings. Catholics look towards the Vatican and the Pope in Rome for new rules or teachings.

Your teacher is a moron. He should learn a bit more about History (the subject he teaches(!) ) The Anglican Church separated from Rome in the 16th century (Henry the 8th) There will always be one catholic church, because there will always be one truth and one God

There is no such thing as Catholic church of Britain.
There is one catholic church headed by the vatican with diocese all over the world. The diocese have some Independence.
This is why, for example, the Boston Diocese is bankrupt(following the cost of all the pedophile law suits) even though the Vatican has billions of euros.

The catholic church will always be just as it has for 2000 years
People do leave and have form their own Christianity sect. The Catholic church cannot change its teachings on faith and morals given to it by the Holy spirit which is truth. God, Jesus, holy spirit are one. Jesus is truth itself. You cannot dissect or divide the truth.

He is wrong, it is the Episcopal Church which is in crisis. The traditional episcopal structure is crashing around them. If everyone is orthodox it works great, but if any fall into heresy it isn't structured to handle it.

Very straight forward answer.
Go seek the answer with the nearest archdioces in your neighbourhood. They'll be able to answer that question.
