I think you are intelligent enough to know this. They make it look as a war of religious significance. On the side of Iran, most likely what they cannot accept is the fact that a significantly small nation sorrounded by their allies have been their perenial headaches. On the side of Israel, believing it is the promised land given to them by their God and nowhere else to go to call their own so, they will always draw blood to defend their rights. Religious? of course not. Its territorial. political and greed.
