Do you really think that Islam is a violent religion and that they all hate America???

I really believe that we are being sold a bill of goods regarding the intentions and overall character of people of the Islamic faith. The media always shows violent images and perhaps people burning American flags . While obviously these images arent contrived , perhaps it isnt a proper representation of the overall opinion of the majority. I do not believe what the biased media tells me . If I were to believe what the media says instead of investigating it myself , then I would be ignorant to the actual reality of the situation . And I believe the major majority of Muslums are not people with bombs strapped to thier necks and want to live in peace . I also believe that the sovereignty of thier respective counties should be recognized by ours, and not invaded or bombed because of what we are being led to believe by the media .

As a Muslim who knows his religion, I can tell you Islam always promotes Muslims to seek peace and exhaust all means of diplomacy. Study the history and you will find Islam was the first religion in Arabia to promote non-violence. I've noticed a bunch of non-Muslims who answered your question saying that Muslims support violence or are violent themselves (people like Simon, Why not ask don, etc.)... these are simply the most ignorant people in the world regarding the topic of Islam. They have ZERO knowledge of the faith except that which the media has fed them... they are the exact specimens that you have pointed out in your question. Don't believe them or trust them. They are liars with hidden agendas and closed hearts and minds.

True Islam is surrendering to God in a mission to seek inner and outer peace. Islam is best exemplified by those who are called Sufis. Islam promotes humility, compassion, justice, mercy, truth and generosity. Islam does not promote or condone terrorism, injustice, violence or hate.

The small percentage of Muslims who say they hate America and want to kill us do not stay in their "respective countries." At last count they were in 107 countries (including Florida). The larger percentage of Muslims, who would rather be left alone to raise their families, are not being bombed by the US (unless you believe the biased media). Because of the terrorist organizations, peaceful Muslims are risking roadside bombs, car bombs and sniper fire just to go to work and school. Before 9/11, they also had to deal with nerve gas, ecological terrorism, and dismemberment from their governments (also Muslim). America and the UN did nothing to help. Ask a soldier stationed OUTSIDE of Baghdad and training Iraqi soldiers or protecting Iraqi workmen. Do you support the troops but not trust what they say?

In America we downplay the attacks by the terrorist organizations on other nations, just as our media plays up the burning of our flag by a few dozen people in foreign streets. If there were thousands of people there you would be shown a long shot of the massive protests... Still, it only takes a small minority to slaughter thousands. If you're willing to let the next hijacked plane fly into your house maybe our soldiers can come home.

I think you need to reverse that question.

American religious and racial hatred are the cause of many problems with Islamic countries.

The media presents news that sells. With the 'superpower mentality' than a good majority of Americans feel, this helps to promote 'peace keeping' where it is most likely to stir up trouble between Americans and Islam.

It seems all Christendom is getting behind the Americans too. All I seem to see on this site, in the Religion/Spirituality section, is intolerance.

The points you raise are good ones. I think there are as many Christian fanatics as there are Muslim ones. It just seems the fanatics in Islam are willing to pay a higher price. It is not only Islamic teaching, it is part of their culture and part of society. It has more to do with living in hardship than Islam.

Just on a side issue.... where do you think they get all the American flags to burn? They're often in pristine condition, and would be hard to afford for most people who find it hard to put food on the table. Mind you, those journalists make a packet...

Good point. There is good and bad in all religions. I do not believe that Islam is a violent religion. I believe that all religions are being influenced by evil people. I think the main people doing the selling are the Islamists

I agree most Muslims very ordinary people trying to make the best of life and capable of living in peace with people of different faiths etc.

That said, there does seem to exist more considerations. One also has to understand that conflicts exist in the world such as that in Israel. Most conflicts have two sides to them and also people use the means available to them.

That said, I believe the majority of americans dont have concerns with the majority of muslims. They have issues with the ones that are the loud minority.

Let’s talk about the facts going on.

If you remember, Israeli Army killed over 1100 civilian including women and children by dropping cluster bombs across Lebanese cities, while Hezbollah killed 45 Israeli trough fire rockets on to Israel.

Human Rights Watch call Hezbollah as a terrorist group and said they are criminals of war, but about the killing of Lebanese women and children no body spoke.

You remember that all bombs use on Lebanon was provided by American government, so have you ever heard any comment of Human Rights Watch about it.

While I do believe that the large majority of Muslims might not want anything more than a peaceful life here in the West, they are sympathetic with the Jihadists and hope to see the Domination of the World by Islam!?

When the prophet of Islam started preaching his new religion in Mecca, he was conciliatory to Christians and Jews. He told them: "We believe in what has been sent down to us and sent down to you, our God is the same as your God" Surah 29:45.

This attitude changed completely after he gained strength. Allah then tells him to "Fight People of the Book (Christians and Jews), who do not accept the religion of the truth (Islam), until they pay tribute (penalty tax) by hand, being inferior." Surah 9:29.

Regarding Christians and Jews, it seems that Mohammed hated the Jews more. During his life time, Mohammed devoted much of his efforts to get rid of the Jews: "You (Jews) should know that the earth belongs to Allah and his apostle, and I want to expel you from this land (the Arabian Peninsula), so, if anyone owns property, he is permitted to sell it "

It's also a very well known fact that all Muslims do not believe they owe any alliegience to the non-Islamic Countries they live in; but believe they belong to the Islamic Nation!?

Of course not. The media is sentationalistic and irresponsible. The saying in the media goes: If it bleeds, it leads.
The very vast majority of Muslims, like the very vast majority of people everywhere are decent folks. Most are neither particularly hateful, nor saintly, but are no worse than your average next door neighbour.

sure the crusades were one of those retaliation. type of even as a fly insects you for 0.5 an hour then you definitely swat it down. you be conscious the Crusaders were particularly ruthless and destroyed many cities without theory for guy woman or toddler. all of them died in brutal techniques. They did this because Islam become attempting to take over parts that were no longer theirs. yet to argue about who become accurate then at present, is unnecessary and basically extremely stupid.
