See a doctor, and work on yourself to get weaned off your alcohol dependency. Attend AA meetings, as well.
Become motivated to make yourself a better person.

Being an alcoholic isn't easy. The cost are enormous. It is sad to say that it's just beer or only this or that is your defense. Hitting bottom and looking up isn't easy. Loss of friends , family, car, house, and yes someone you don't even know could die. Getting help and staying sober is the answer. Oh, you have to want to quit and stay sober. You see no one else can do it for you. They all wanted to help you but you first have to help yourself. Seek help. If you don't know where or how ask any doctor, social services dept, yes even the police will help you. Good luck.

I'm not but I would imagine that one would drink to the point of oblivion therefore not caring that they are or worrying about any responsibilities they may have.

Do you go to AA meeting for help? if not your not an alcoholic your just a drunk....but the meetings might help you if you are a drunk.
