My children are dual nationals. They use their US Passport when entering the USA in order to have a record of the time they have spent in the USA (my idea). If they wanted to use their "other" passport and enter the USA with other foreigners, they could also do this.
ARE YOU officially a dual national? If so.. I'm sure you can do it.

Does your HKSAR have a stamped date of your entry to Canada? That's usually the one that they check. If you have a dual citizenship...I beleive you can. Otherwise, it is safer if you get another Canadian passport.

two years ago-they probably won't remember which passport you had at that time.
