Can anyone tell me how to get the better voice.

Try reading aloud every night. Start with ten minutes, and work your way up to perhaps 30 minutes.
If you don't get results with that, try finding a singing coach. He/she will teach you how to use your diaghram to better support your voice, and also perhaps how to loosen up your rib cage. Acting lessons may also help, too, as they teach many of the same things.

Ironically at one time in my 45 years I had the same desire. I wanted to change my voice to something softer that would be more attractive to the ladies. I discovered that I was unable to do it for any extended period. Extended meaning any period of more than a minute or two. It was impossible for me.
