Those other answers are great, but I shall tell you what I was told many many years ago.... spam comes from those adorable little spam animals. I hear in some states it is illegal for them to be hunted and turned into spam, their numbers were dropping to low, and they didnt want to become one of the first states to report that on a long hot summer day or a cold winter day that there would no longer be sightings of the adorable little spam animals .....
