A loofah is really for scrubbing off dead skin and really cleaning the skin. So if you have really sensitive skin i would suggest not using one. I know that I have something called keratosis polaris (looks like acne on your arm) and the doctor told me to use a loofah to clear my pores. And everyone should have clear pores. So not really any disadvantages. Make sure you clean the loofah though.

A loofa, I think, is bad. It harbors all sorts of germs and bacteria. Its function is to remove our dead skin and bacteria on the skin. I use a washcloth that I can wash after each use.

YES!!! It's a sponge for all the bacteria and dead skin that it absorbs. Use a wash cloth and a natural exofliant body wash!
