I think that some cops can have an attitude. I dated one briefly, long ago. But I have two cousins who are cops and are, as far as I know, happily married with children. I think the key is balancing a healthy family life with the rigors of police work. All men cannot be categorized by their jobs. Good Luck.

I never have but my best friend in the world did. She is having a terrible experience with him though. It could be his personality or it could be that he's a cop ...who knows? He's terribly controlling....and sometimes even abusive. I don't know if that's just his own natural characteristics or he feels he can do it because he's above the law. The thing is she keeps hanging onto him. He makes her feel stupid and emotionally abuses her as well. Nothing she ever does is good enough. He moved out Southwest and told her that if she didn't come their relationship was over. Eventually she went out there and now he makes her pay $1000 for rent and she has to buy her own groceries and necessities! It's like they are just roommates! Not even that because she's paying for the entire rent. I wouldn't stereotype all cops to be like this but that's just her experience and I think she's nuts to still be with him. He's very cocky not only to her but to people out in public. Of course I would be concerned for their wellbeing too if you got serious enough to start a family with him. Being a cop is a very dangerous job and I don't know if I could live day to day knowing my husband is risking his life. I hope this helps you out.
Best of Luck!

There are good ones and bad ones. I had a controlling one and left. Street cops are diff from detectives too.my lover is a detective. He has always been sweet to me but I can see where he could be hard to get the bad guys .take a chance. If u see signs of control leave fast

No...but I dated a guy who later became a "public safety officer" or something like that and now is going to school to become a real cop. All I can say is that he is VERY into himself and the fact that he gets to carry a gun and write people tickets. I'm definitely not into guys like that!

Don't do it. They aren't worth it. My brothers were both cops, one for a few years, the other for 16 years. Both their marriages split.
I dated 2 cops, both losers.
