Madrassa is local word for school, mainly poorly funded private school. Madrassa have been there for thousand of years. So where were the terrorist then?
The specific madrassa that have been mentioned in the current turmoil were the one created, sponsored and funded by US during Prez Regan administration to create fighters among the Afghan refugees for their war against the Soviet. When they were used for US interest then then there was no problem calling them 'freedom fighter' because then they were fighting against Soviet. Now that they may be involved in pushing out another occupier(s), they become so called 'terrorist'. Is not this the classical case of "One person freedom fighter is another person terrorist ".
Sometimes people intentionally like not to know the real truth because it does not serve their mental scheme of things.

It is the 'Recruiters' that prey upon these poor mindless saps that are the real problem.
You are asked to give up everything and open yourself up to a new way of life. The 'recruiters' know this and use that as a tool in the enlistment process.... what better place to get young, stupid, willing, mindless, fanatics that will kill themselves if they think they be accepted faster?
