Just somebody in college... an aquaintance, not exactly real friends... haven't said hi to him for a few months even when face to face with him because of some awkward stuff in school, but those akward things've been resolved now after a trouble maker dropped out of my college. I want to say hi now. Probably he doesn't care if I do, but it breaks my heart to give somebody the cold shoulder on purpose. Should I apologise to him for being unfriendly\rude or etc? Will he think that I'm daft or strange if I apologise? Any suggestion how to apologise? It will be strange if I suddenly start saying hi again won't it so I should apologise first? It's complicated ... we aren't very good friends or hangout mates, just class mates and acquaintances

Well, I think you should start talking to him again. During this conversation just tell how you feel and apoligize. By listening to his response, you'll figure out if he he felt the same way, indifferent, or whatever.
I don't know what will happen after the first conversation, but just take the risk and start talking to him. If you would like him more than an acquaintance, just do what you think it's right and then go from there.

I think you have a golden opportunity there.... you could find a time to ask him if you could have a chat and then just say what you said above.... if you are having trouble screwing up the courage, I would suggest you might want to try the Emotional Freedom Technique, a meridian-based protocol for dealing with anxiety... easy to learn and to apply. Well, probably since you guys aren't close friend or even friends, just picking things up again would be the smoothest thing. If he brings up the cold shoulder incident, or in turn gives you the cold shoulder, then yes, apologize. Personally, if I knew someone only through class and I give them the cold shoulder... I probably wouldn't apologize. Not because I'm mean, but because I would forget why I was mad or sometimes who they were. (My short term memory is horrid.)

dear..if u go on thinking n never tell him ur feelings...do u suppose that sumday he wud dream abut this...that u want a sincere relation with him...
there are two possibilties that...he may talk to u or deny ur friendship....but remember one thing....
every great n tru friend is a stranger untill we let to know that we are gr8 friends ..after sumtime..so go n speak to him...may be ur lucky....
n be sure to tell him the reasons behind ur past behaviour towards him....if he is a nice person then he wud surely understand what u felt for him at that time.
n afterall its one life...do whatever u desire to do....
best wishes.

I don't think you need to apologize. Just go up to him and greet him in a friendly way so he will know you want to let go of the unpleasant past. If he responds warmly that's good. But if he's still cool just let it go.

It's never too late to make amends if you want to. I'm sure he would appreciate your apology. It shows you thought enough of him to do so. Nice way to start a fresh friendship.

Depends on the type of guy he is based on what you know about him. Don't bother with some one who you think won't really care about what you say.

If you have the ego strength, do it. It will ease the guilt you carry. Othrwise it will grind on you for a long time.

Mandy,
The best way to apologize is to be sincere and admit what you are apologizing for.
An apology isn't worth much half-heartedly.
