It is an old logic puzzle. One philosopher had a clock, which he had forgotten to wind up. He had no other clock, watch, radio, TV, phone or any other device telling the time. So when his clock stopped he went to a friend, stayed there the whole night and when he came home, he knew the right time. How could he know?

If he stayed at his friends the whole night [a clue,I think} and could tell the time when he got back home [in the day] I also suggest that the wizened old philosopher had a sundial....But what if he came home in the rain??????Also, it says he "forgot to wind up" the clock..which kinda screws up the sundial theory....unless the logic puzzle is flawed and illogical. Can we work an hour glass in here somewhere?...Church bells? And just who in the hell is this mysterious "friend"?

Clocks can degree time even even as they do no longer teach the right time. you in consumer-friendly words could wind the clock up and... we could think that the adventure to the chum and lower back lasts the very similar time and the chum has a clock (showing the striking time) ...
