This is what my husband did for me one time when we were dating and it has become one of my fondest memories.

He told me he had made dinner reservations and some plans for afterward. I was told to dress appropriately for a nice dinner but to also bring a warm coat since our next activity was outdoors.

He picked me up and we had a nice dinner, as planned. He then drove me to Long Beach (I live in California) where he had made reservations for a gondola ride at 10:00pm (very romantic). we boarded our gondola and was serenaded by our gondolier. We cuddled close under a blanket he had brought to keep us warm and had chocolate strawberries that he made at home and our favorite wine. We sailed through the harbor under the night sky and this set the mood for a very romantic evening at his place. After our gondola ride he brought me to his place, told me to wait in the car for a few minutes. He had gone inside to light candles all over the bedroom. The floor and bed were covered with rose petals and gift box was sitting on the bed. It was a beautiful piece of lingerie. .....and, well you know how the night ended.

Or, one Valentines Day I did this for him.

He worked that day and was to be home around dinner time. I decided to surprise him with a romantic dinner at home. I got all dressed up, did my hair, my make up and wore a sexy dress. I had ordered his favorite dish from Olive Garden and picked it up an hour before his arrival and kept it warm in the stove. I had also bought a cd that he had been wanting. It appropriately enough, had some love songs that I could have playing in the background for our dinner. I set the table with wine, flowers and candles. Dimmed all the lights and had everything ready to go. I stood vigil at the front window watching for him to pull into the driveway. When he did I greeted him at the door with a huge hug and kiss and welcomed him in. We sat down at the table and shared a glass of wine and I gave him the gift I had bought for him (a very nice watch) listened to the music and had some conversation and then served dinner. I had also bought some sexy lingerie, edible lubricants and other items to top off our night!! He loved all the thought I had put into the evening and I had the best time planning it!!
