My fiance and I are planning a vintage themed wedding. So we have decided to make black and white copies of family members photos (see my question I posted an hour ago) and incorporate them into the reception.

We are going to play all Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole type music during cocktail hour and dinner.

Any other ideas on how to decorate or add to the vintage theme?

A vintage or a retro theme is definitely unique in its own way, therefore a great idea to have it own your wedding. Here are some more ideas which I feel would add to the party theme.

A Polaroid Photo Guest book would be a great idea to have.
You can capture every moment of your wedding day with the Polaroid instant Pictures and hand written sentiments and expressions from your guests and these combined together in a guest book can become a memento filled with everlasting memories!!
To set the tone of the party, Wedding Invitations for the 30’s era of sophistication can be created with heavy, cream colored paper stock and deco-style fonts with a period clip art.
The Retro Dressing Ware…how would that be?? For the 30’s look, a deco glamour idea would be a sleek and satiny dress found in the vintage dress shops or even at flee markets or thrift shops. They can also be custom made by using new or old vintage fabrics and these can also be easily found in e bay.
Nothing says retro like a tasty, frosting-topped cupcake. They're back in vogue as the height of food fashion. Delicious, colorful cupcakes can be served as the main wedding dessert attraction, substituted for the traditional wedding cake or in addition to a conventional wedding cake. Stack them like a skyscraper or arrange them in a circle to make a peace sign. Cupcakes can easily be decorated in day-glo icing colors for the1960s look or with silvery accents for a Deco finish.
Retro style wedding favors like love beads or peace sign jewelry or putting together a custom-made CD of classic rock tunes would be a great idea. For the 1930s wedding theme idea, linen handkerchiefs for both men and women would add a nice vintage touch. DVD copies of your favorite old comedy movie are sure to delight your guests - and the cover can feature you and your groom in place of Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn for a fun reminder of your own classic romance!

Lemme know if you like these ideas or whether they were of some help to you.

Hi and congratulations! Have you suggestion approximately going official antique? Such as....shopping a antique robe off of Ebay? There are robes from each generation from the 1920's on up. And, so much of them are very, very fair (a few for simplest $20!) I have no idea what "generation" you're watching at, however you will have to investigate it out. As an instance, if you're doing 1940's antique, simply kind in "Forties marriage ceremony robe" within the seek field and spot what comes up. Good success!

You could have your bridesmaids style their hair from that time period. It is a subtle touch that will just make everything tie together.
