No this is not a fantasy match-up, accourding to MMAweekly (http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=3251&zoneid=2) Randy Couture will be coming out of retirement to face the current heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia during UFC 68. From a business stand point this match-up is great, the UFC is going to sell alot of tickets and PPVs but from a fans perspective Im not to happy. In my opinion Randy Couture is a legend and it was bad enough seeing him retire after two vicious KOs to Chuck liddell but Tim Sylvia is a big guy and no pushover either. It would be a dream come true to see the heavyweight belt back around Randy's waist and even more so to see it not around Tim's, but seriously do you think Randy can do it? And if he does do you really want to see Cro Cop retire him again?

I think it would be a very interesting fight, but I think that Couture should have been carefully training and studying Sylvia if he wants to win. I really would love to see anyone take the belt from Sylvia though because it really just feels like he wins more because of his heighth and reach than from talent as a UFC fighter.

Tim Sylvia Vs Randy Couture

If the UFC wants to be known as the premier mixed martial arts organization, they shouldn't keep pulling fighters out of retirement or near retirement to face the champions. I haven't seen one good fight come from this strategy. Shamrock got creamed by Franklin and Hughes v. Gracie was a joke. Sylvia v. Couture should be more interesting than the previous two, but the result will be the same. Even if Couture gets the Mainiac to the ground, Sylvia trains with one of the best camps in the sport. I'm sure he'll be prepared for anything the Natural will bring at him, and eventually get the knockout. I wish Brandon Vera had resigned, as he has a solid chance of taking down Sylvia before the belt falls into the hands of CroCop. What's up with the guy complaining about Anderson Silva? He wrecked Rich Franklin and Mike Swick should have gotten a shot? Mark my words, Anderson Silva will wreck Mike Swick too!

This is going to be the most boring fight ever. Tim Sylvia needs to get agressive so his fights become more interesting. As far as Randy goes, he is a great fighter, but his style clearly doesn't match up well against Sylvia. The only fight in the UFC heavyweight division I want to see right now is Cro Cop vs. Vera. Too Bad Vera is going to sign with the new Showtime Promotion and we will never get to see this fight.

As much as I love Couture and hate Sylvia, I don't think this is a good match for Couture.

Randy couture struggled at heavyweight when he fought guys that were much larger then him (Ricco Rodriguez and Josh Barnett). Tim Sylvia will present the same problem for him.

If he makes a comeback he should stay at 205 lbs.

Sylvia doesnt have the greatest of takedown defense, if couture can take him down, he will have a really good chance to win....also even at age 40something, randy is still probably in better shape than sylvia, but i do see Tim knocking out couture, but it wont be as brutal as gracies comeback against hughes.

amen adam g!

Damn i would love to see Randy get the belt back. I would think that he would have to fight a couple fights before he gets a title shot though. I dont understand how the UFC picks the top contender. Anderson Silva pissed me off , one KO and he gets a title shot over Mike Swick!!! I read the Brandon Vera wont sign a contract because he wants to see if the new showtime MMA thing will pay him more but I think Randy needs to win at least one fight first.

Don't underestimate Couture, he's beaten better fighters than Sylvia. The key would be to get inside and hit Sylvia with short rights and hooks, then take him down. If Couture can get him on his back it would be over real fast.

not a chance of couture winning.

hes moving back to heavyweight cause he knows that he aint gonna beat chuck.
so what chance does he have against big tim, who hits twice as hard as chuck?!!

WAR SYLVIA!!!

i dont understand why everyone hate tim so much
