I saw it in a movie and I'm curious. It had 2 engines mounted on each side of the tail. It was a BOAC flight landing at JFK in 1970.

There have been 3 that I know of

The Vickers VC-10. produced in small numbers in the UK. Tjis would of been the one you saw. Also saw use in the RAF for VIP flights and as an in-flight refueler

The Illushyn IL-62 which is a remarkable near copy of the VC-10

The Lockheed JetStar..a four engine executive aircraft produced in the 60's. Notorious for high fuel consumption!

It is the Vickers VC-10. BOAC was operating this aircraft in that timeframe.

The Illyushin Il-62 too has similar engine layout.
