Why do I see that atheists go to hell?

You keep quoting the bible, are you not capable of your own thoughts and opinions? What makes sense to you? I am curious. When you say that someone will burn, does that make sense that God is capable of that?

I was not a Pentecostal. I did a neighbor a favor for awhile by taking her to her church. She had been good to my son when we had a few hard years. I knew before I ever walked in the door that I would disagree with 99.9% of what I heard. I did disagree, of course. That experience also left me an objective observer to the absurdity of tongues.I

God put us here for companionship and to do good for us just like you would do for your own son. If he forced me to believe or to love Him than that love would be hollow and not worth having.

God does not want atheists to go to Hell, He wants them (all people) to go to heven. Thats why he gave of himself here on earth, so that we could all be with Him If we so choose to believe.(read the book of John in the new testament)

I am capable of my own thoughts and most of them have got me in trouble. I'll tell you what makes sense to me...What makes sense is that I have not lived this life before, I got one chance to get it right. The Bible is my guide, a road map if you will, and I need a map and I need to keep studying that map cause there are so many ways to go wrong that look like an easier path. I have taken that easier path and have found it empty more than once and I have stuggled to do right out of love for God and out of fear of Him.
I don't want to get all deap and self rightouise on ya I just know that Hell is real and one hell of a motivater. God is God He can do what ever He wants. I'm suprised that He puts up with me and blesses me the ways that He does.

Please don't judge all churches on one visit to one church. If you pray for knowledge, understanding , direction and humility you will be amaised by the works He can do in your life. Most important to me is a relationship with Him though study and prayer

Absurdity of tongues - love it GTW! You and I've started this one earlier and we have: GTW = 1 or 2 church observations STANDING bravely like the last stand of Davy Crocket against the Bible, 2000 years of history and Joe Cool's personal 30 years of experience. Gee - what a tough call.
Opinion? If you move beyond the cultural mythology of that age, then burning in hell represents painful punishment. Does that make sense? If you raised a son, you know it does. Fire has two functions, destruction and purging, warming is a by product. Punishment as destruction of evil - no problem by me. Punishment as bringing a Texas donkey back into the mule train - fine by me.
Athiest - one who does not believe in God. Hmm...eternity with two options: hell or God. Where else are you going to put the athiest, GTW? We could leave them unresurrected, but then that would be part of your 2nd century anti-gnostic plot.
Just in case you want to read what I can't quote - Revelation strongly suggests you won't see any athiests in hell.

I'm not sure I totally understand your question. Do you believe in heaven and hell? How can someone go to hell if you don't believe it exists? Do you believe in a kind God or one of wrath? That's the problem with churches. They create a paradox. Why is God mean in the Old Testament and a changed being in the New Testament?

Personally, since we are all one with the Supreme Being then that means that good and evil are found within. Can you have yin without yang? Male without female? Light without dark? How is one to tell the difference if no opposite exists?

If you are skeptical then why would you think atheists are going to hell? I see a conflict in your question and explanation. This you must decide for yourself.

First,.. I will tell you you wont get an answer for your question.
Because deep in your conscious you already choose a side. So Whatever 'SMART and reasonable' the answers that you got, you will only choose what you want to hear, and ignroe the rest.

SO, I challenge you, if you really looking for an answer, be an open minded. Do ask your neighbour with more free mindded, and learn what she know about 'faith'. Stop all your judging and ur skeptize attitude.

-----------
now for your question. I will give you the hard truth. I wont be a nice and typical Christian bible quoter answer here.

Living in Heaven is about doing the Will of God, no more free will, no more chance to commit sin, and no more doing your own pleasure. If while here in earth you already don't like the idea of serving God nor doing His Will, then i belive you wouldnt like the idea of living in Heaven. And there is only one other place left. Who can blamed for that? off course you yourself who make that choice.

Then now if you start to think why God is so cruel to create such system? I dont want to serve such God nor do His will. I hate this system, I dont like it, I want to do it on my way, or high way.

Then I challenge you to start your searching about "God's love". and ask your christian friend who have experience that. And ask them what make them to believe in that God's love. Off course you will find some stupid ignorance christiance who dont know what he do, but that's why I challenge you until you can find your answer from the real people.

God will not force you into heaven. If you deny Him, He will not force you to believe or not believe, but there are consequences for your actions. I parent may not "force" a teen to stay home....nailing their windows shut and chaining them to the bed, but that teen will face consequences of their actions when they return home. Facing consequences is NOT forcing. It is one of the best lessons we learn growing up.

Tongues? I'm a christian and I think what we see in churches today described as "tongues" is not the same thing that happened in biblical times. It was an actual language spoken for the purpose of sharing the gospel with someone not of your own culture and language. The "tongues" I have seen today in our churches is just babbling. Emotionalism. So, I'm with you on that. I think "tongues" in churches where it is a bunch of babbling turns so many people off. Not all fellowships believe in that. Perhaps if you are ever curious or have an inclination to go to church again, I would steer clear of the tongue talking ones. They mean well and are sincere, but in error.

Hmmm

>I knew before I ever walked in the door
>that I would disagree with 99.9% of what I heard.

>I did disagree, of course.

>me an objective observer

Sounds as though you were NOT an objective observer before you ever walked in the door!!!

And, just how was your statement in any way relevant ti your original question/comment: God does not force anyone to believe.?

We first must start at the beginning. Humans are born with a sin nature and spiritually dead. In this dead condition, they are incapable of believing in the God of the Bible or seeing their lost condition. God chose to intervene in certain peoples lives to save them. It is totally God's choosing whom He will save, there is no free will involved in the salvation process. The Holy Spirit comes to individuals at some point in their lives and indwells them, basically raising them from their dead condition. It is then, and only then, can they truly believe in the God of the Bible, realize their sin problem and inability to do anything about it, and to see their need for a savior. God chooses these people, the elect or ecclesia "the called out ones", not based on what they will or will not do, nor on who they are, but solely based on His sovereign will, grace and mercy. He is not obligated to save anyone. While God is love and mercy, His main attribute in holiness. God cannot allow sin into Heaven. So, no I am not "forced" to believe in God, it is that with the indwelling Spirit, I now am able to believe in God in all His fullness and be counted among the elect because of His sovereign grace and mercy.

An objective observer to the absurdity of tongues. I'm starting to get miffed at your posts. You say you're not here to bash Christians, but yet you insult us in every one of your questions.
If you don't believe in tongues, that's your business, but I do, so why you gotta make fun of my beliefs?
Did I ever once quote the Bible in any of my answers?
As to your original question... God doesn't force us to worship him. If he did, we'd all be going to church, and we'd all be believers, and there would be no debate on Yahoo. God gave us free will to obey him or not.
But what we do with that free will has consequences.

If God forced people to believe in Him, why would there even be a hell? Obviously there is a hell because we were given free will. People are alarmed and think we have an unloving God when there is the thought of people going to hell. Well, if heaven is God's kingdom, why should He let anyone in who does not believe in Him? As for when you went to church, if you go in telling yourself you will disagree, then of course you will...if you opened your heart and gave it a chance, who knows what could have happened...

God does not force anyone to believe anything. In hell, people can believe in whatever false gods they want to. I quote the Bible because I agree with it. It is the only religion revealed to me that clearly establishes why we should pursue righteousness in this life, and how our actions lead to our placement in the afterlife. No one will physically burn in hell, there wont be pain or torture or anything like that.... It will just be a place where you get to keep your sinful nature.
