Definitely get those Nubby sippy cups with the silicone spouts. Those will be the closest things to what your baby is used to...the bottle.

You may have to give baby the bottle at night if this is something you've been doing, but take it away from him/her during the day time.

Eventually, start saying the bottle is yucky. We did that with our 2 year old and her pacifier. We'd say, "that's so yucky, you should throw that away". Well she started loving throwing them in the garbage herself. Finally she got down to the last one and decided on her own to throw it away. I explained it was her last one and she couldn't have any more after that. She tossed it anyways and has been fine ever since.

The bottle was very hard for ME personally to take away from her. You may feel like you're seriously depriving your child of something...ya know the "oh I'm such a bad mom" thing you tell yourself. I'd eventually give in and give her the bottle. Finally I just knuckled down and threw alll of them out. I knew if the bottles were here I'd give her one and we'd back track lol.

When she asked for the bottle, I'd just offer her the new "big girl cup". Make a big deal out of the new "big girl/boy cup" by saying stuff like, "Look at him drinking out of that big boy cup".

That worked for us. My first was solely breastfeed, so when the second decided to do breast and bottle, I was lost on how to take the bottle away lol.

Good luck!

What my sister-in law did was only put water in the bottle and juice and milk in the sippy cups. You could start by getting those Nuby cups that have the silicone tops just for her to get used to a cup and then slip in a reg. cup with stuff she likes. Good luck. Remember don't try to take a nuk and a bottle away at the same time if she is still on the nuk try to give that to her at night instead of a bottle.

Your 15 month old is an alcoholic or baby bottle. try AA if not try taking it away and switching to a bottle that is made by Playtex i be live? it is hourglass shaped and it has a soft nipple like top. That's what we did with our daughter at about 10 month and it work great now shes 16 month and were using sippy cups.

With all 3 of my boys I simply just took it away one day and didn't give it back. My oldest 2 did pretty okay, my youngest well needless to say he through plenty of tantrums and was cranky for a while. But once he got that it was gone and not coming back, he was happy with his "big boy" sippy cups. Your child may have trouble with the transition for a little bit, and you may at times get so frustrated you want to just line her room with bottles and let her have at it. But you just have to do as I did and grit your teeth and bear it, til she gets used to it. Hopefully you will get lucky and she'll deal with it just fine from the start. Good Luck!!!

we introduced the sippy cup to our daughter slowly with juice and water when she learned that she could drink from it we started putting a little milk in it and leave it in front of her in between meals while she watched cartoons then she'd take sipps with in a week the bottles were gone, my friend took the bottle away one morning when his baby woke up like they never even existed she struggled for two or three days it might be a little harder for you we did this before they were 1 year old, but you have to do it i saw a 5 year old with a bottle once and told myself "that's not going to be my baby".

I remember I took the bottle away between 12 and 14 months... mostly by making them WANT the cup..... they liked to be grown-up..... but it's mental and every child is difference.

To me, it was just best to say "no more bottle - now your 'big boy" or "girl"..... kids usually try to mimic parents.....
