Yes. A Real Alchemist can teach you want you want to know. If you aren't lucky enough to stumble upon a real one (like I did), you can do a little research first. I've included a short recommended reading list below. You can get all of these books at amazon.com, if you can't find them in your local book store.

The tradition says that when you are ready, your teacher will appear. If you aren't willing to wait for that, you can contact the (living) authors of the books below. All the Alchemists I know are more than happy to give you personal advice on how to proceed along the path. Some of them even take on apprentices.

The path of Alchemy is not easy. It's not simple. It's a lifelong study and takes a lot of dedication and patience.

Are you prepared for that?

I am a student of Alchemy. Don't see many of us around. I am a Christian Alchemist, but you can be any religion. Alchemy is older than them all. And the interesting thing is that the ancient text from different places like China and Persia were written when there was no contact between these places and yet have the same ideas. Carl Jung says that this point to the deep truth that is there. I agree.

What did you want to know? Short of the great secrets that can not be told, that is.

PS. We tell the Muggles that it is all about turning lead into gold, but you know better don't you?

Alchemy has two separate and distinct followings; physical and spiritual.
I take it you are researching the spiritual since you brought up the Atheistic part towards the end.

None of the texts survive although you might be able to find some treatises belonging to Sir Francis Bacon.

Also look up the outer inscriptions on the Louvre in France, the Cathedral at Reims, or Notre Dame itself. Each has alchemical inscriptions chiseled into it by the original architects, and the one at Notre Dame is supposedly the one that led to the creation of the Philosophers stone itself.

It sounds as if you are confusing some book or books that you have read with reality. You can learn potions or rather herbal medicine, but it is an academic course leading to qualifications. Healing can involve medical qualifications, or spiritual healing or similar courses. As for the others, if you were serious there may be books, magazines or groups that teach magical topics personally, but not in the way that you appear to mean. Modern magic tends to encompass religious beliefs and practical action more than changing the outside world by saying some words. . Divination is usually done or fun, though you can teach yourself any method that suits you. Shape changing and other topics; if you can do them, you will, without anyone else to help though this is not a safe course to take. this is a tall order to give anyone. Take care with your wishes.

Most of what was called Alchemy is now called chemistry. But there are still books on the market that cover different types of Alchemy.

Alchemy means get something by other, this is called transmutation, its a matter of energy.

All this is true and have logic

For example, moving from anger (negative emotion) to compassion is alchemy

one makes a point of life in their own way not by mandate from a false teaching of an unreal god .Alchemy is only the precursor to what we refer to now a days as chemistry . if you want enroll in a college chemistry class. But for reason and purpose in life I recommend reading the great philosophers for a head start in point of view and meaning .Their are also some great writers like Samuel Clements who were atheists . check these atheistic quotes from one of the great geniuses of history.Enjoy!

You should seek out a teacher of alchemy - but no alchemist would ever just tell you any real secrets without first ensuring that you go through the proper initiation.

Alchemy. The nice thing about theology/alchemy/whatnot is that there's nothing much to learn. In the case of God, you need a Bible! In the case of alchemy, you need some lead, horse urine, cow manure, and lots of paprika.

Just keep mixing until it turns into gold.

Keep mixing.

Mixing...

... mixing.
