I have dealt with depression for several years now and nothing has helped, medication wise. And thoughts of suicide are getting out of control. However I work basically a minimum wage job and live paycheck to paycheck. any help is appreciated.

In most states you can go through your local health department and be refered to a mental health group. They usually base this on your income. As for medication, there are several options that are new to the market. Lexapro and Cymbalta are fairly new. Contact your health dept. and ask for info. Good luck.

Other answerers have given you the ticket... most cities have local Mental Health Clinics that work from a sliding scale fee, based on your income and outgo. Call your city hospital and ask them... they'll know. Good luck! Hang in there... it WILL get better, with counseling and maybe a new Rx. Try your Mental Health Clinic and see if they can't get you in soon!

I am not a believer in organized religion but churches can help and I have known a few people who only got better after attending church. I was depressed for years and changing jobs helped me more than any pill I took but like I said I have also known a few people who have turned to church and it worked for them.

What BC Cooper said, it really helped me out money wise.You also need to go ASAP,since you are thinking suicide.Is there a way to get to emergency room,they could probably help you now. Do it!( take friend or family member with you)
