Right now I have braces. I've had them for about 3 years, and I'm getting them off in 7 days. To be honest once you get used to them, they really arent bad.
They do hurt for a couple days when you get them tightened. And it takes a lot of getting used to. And you cant eat some things, but after you are used to chewing and eating with braces you can bend the rules and chew gum as long as you are careful with it.
You do look very different, but trust me, its all worth it in the end, my teeth looked terrible but now they look pretty and I cant wait to get the braces off.
And nobody is gonna hate you if you get braces, some people even find it cute.
ps. If you had to use spacers before you get the braces, the spacers are the worst part, braces arent that bad, people just overexaggerate.

Of course that occasionally the braces will hurt. You have strange metal in your mouth that the teeth have never felt. It will get better though. And having braces is worth it. Some people will call names and stuff but just be brave. You are lucky to get straight teeth. Be strong. In the long run. Braces will pay off and you will have a wonderful smile.

I'm getting braces tomorrow too.I really don't want them but I do want my teeth straight.I'm not worried about people calling me names because a lot of kids and teenagers out there have braces...even adults!!So, don't be scared,There are a lot of people out there going through the same thing.Every time you look in the mirror picture yourself with straight teeth instead of focusing on the braces.Your braces will be off before you know it!

First off don't be scared. It doesn't hurt when they put them on, but after you leave the dentist office your mouth will be sore and you feel pressure, nothing big just take an advil or tylenol for it. Yes you will look different, but you will get use to them. People shouldn't hate you just because you have braces on, all my friends forget that i have them on. Take it Easy. -ME
