B. They actually belong to a personality cult centered around Anton LaVey.

It depends on the type of Satanist. One of the 7 forms of pseudo satanism which worships Satan as the Christian view are laughable at best and deluded and dangerous at worst. Those who practice the Church of Satan religion tend to often be atheist (though I'm not certain about agnostic) though many are not. So, for the actual religion, I'd say B more often than C.

A) I do not believe Satanists are evil. I don't know much about them in the first place.
B) They believe in a deity or higher power (not atheist) and it is a specific deity or higher power (not agnostic) [I'm pretty ignorant on Satanism, I'm sorry to say]
C) There are many problems with organized religion. I see that, even though I belong to and vehemently believe in one. Atheists are atheists because they believe it is much saner to just do without the bad things religion puts into the world. (Yes J*sus lovers, religion DOES put some evil into the world, and don't go pointing fingers either.)

Just so you know, I'm agnostic.
Anyway, if you have actually read the Satanic Bible, you would realize that it's actually just psycho babble written by Howard Stanton Levey(aka Anton Szandor LeVey). The Church of Satan was NOT some mysterious place with hidden passages and trapped doors and or even any type of demonic presence, but his parents home that he ended up buying from them when he cashed in off his satanic propaganda. Satanism isn't even a form of real religion! It explores the human mind and the hypocrisy of any human for we all have no matter how Christian we claim to be.
My advice to you is to actually fully research Howard (or Anton) which ever you prefer to call him, before you delve to deep in making uneducated polls or remarks.

Well, quite the assortment of interesting answers you have here.
I'll take C for $100, Alex.
(I'm guessing you meant to say that Satanists are atheist/agnostic.)

I'm a Theistic Satanist.
C and B are true to me, as I know several Modern [Atheistic/Agnostic] Satanists.
To a Christian type, A is true by virtue that a Satanist is not a Christian. You can't educate them. Living by a book as truth provides little mental fiber.

Satanists are childish.
They're like teenagers living in the midst of Christianity; They keep throwing tantrums saying they're rebelling, but they're not ready to leave home and actually face the big bad world.
It's a pseudo-religion. Otherwise, why would they be so attached to images developped by the Catholic Church.
