I believe in God. I think that the man Jesus may have even been a prophet.

What I want is for you to be open to the possibility that Jesus is only one way to God. He spoke of enlightenment, not salvation. No one needs salvation.

If the bible has deceived you about Jesus message maybe it was designed to do just that. God is not about hate and bigotry like the bible says.

GTW - please. I like you. You have a unique twist to ideas - but I have to ask for help. I confess to only being a man. I admit that I am sadly highly educated. I will allow to having translated a fair share of the NT from the Greek, Hebrew was a killer. And yes, I live over here in Eden -but all that aside,
How do you manage to design all these one-sided pronouncements with no documentation, logic, or substantiation?
Get out your Red Letter Bible and help me get through John w/o thinking salvation? Better yet, I read the Bible everyday - tell me where this God of hate and bigotry is?
Like I've said, GTW, y ou are one fine gal, but your Texas oil is running thinner and thinner.

You may not have motives to do so, but isn't the word Bash just another word for " bad mouthing"?
We are being bad mouthed just because we believe the bible is true to us. We believe that we needed salvation just as you believe that you don't.
And how do you know if the bible has deceived us?
You say you believe in God. Anyone can believe in a god. How do you know who your god is? Is He really God or someone in your imagination of what you perceive god to be?
I am not criticizing you by asking you this, I am just trying to show that there are both sides to an argument.
Faith is of the heart and logic is of the mind. He's at the door of our heart and not the door of our brains. That is why we accept Jesus at His Word, with our hearts and when we do then the Spirit of God gives us an understanding of God's ways through the Word. Nobody else understands this unless they have Jesus in their hearts. If you read the gospels with your heart and not your mind maybe you would understand.

Your right, God is not about hate, nor does it say that anywhere in the Bible that he is. In fact, the Bible says GOD IS LOVE. And Jesus did speak of salvation. He said I am the Way the Truth and the Light, NO man comes unto the Father but through Him. Sounds like hes the only way to me.

I am open enough to think that Jesus is not the only way. I am what some would call a liberal Christian. I do not think that the Christian bible was written to deceive anyone. I am concerned about who may have taught you the possibility of that. The Christian bible is about Love. Read the Gospels about Jesus and what He did and said. That is what Christianity is about. Don't judge all Christian by the actions of some and we will not judge your religion by the actions of some of its followers either.

Jesus said He's the only way to God. Jesus also said He was God: John 10:30 "I and the Father are one".
Gospel of John 1:1 says that Jesus is God: "In the beginnig was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".

As far as salvation, we all need it. We are all sinners deserving Hell. But Christ died for our sins.

You're right, God is not about hatred and bigotry, He's about righteousness.

I don't know what to make of you. I'm getting the sense that, you're not here to bash Jesus, but you are here to bash the Christian church. Does that make sense?
You have your view of Jesus, and I have mine. You say Jesus never spoke of salvation, I say He did. Neither one of us was alive 2,000 years ago, so we have to go by our guts.
I am compelled to believe that Jesus is the only way. It's not about me being narrow-minded or being stupid. It's just the way I see things.
And I don't think you're stupid or narrow-minded either. But we disagree. At the end of the day, we have to decide on something we believe in.

What Bible do you read? The Holy Bible is full of love, not hate.

Try making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.

Revelation 3:20.

Hey buddy. Do you know what Jesus' name is in Hebrew? It is Yeshua. Do you know what Yeshua means in Hebrew? SALVATION. Everyone at that time would have called him by Yeshua because that is the name that His mother/Father gave Him. Do you think it is just a coincidence that His name means that? Come on...
