because he decided to let Satan have free will, and by allowing this he also allows human kind to be tested for their faith.

God Jehovah created all his intelligent creations with the gift of free will.
The Angel that became Satan(Resister)and Devil(Slanderer) misused his free gift and rebelled against his Heavenly Father.
Satan has been restricted in his spiritual activities and he has also been ousted out of heaven, with his demons behind him.He is being allowed alittle longer and then Jehovah will step in and abyss Satan and the demons and destroy all wickedness on the earth and restore peace and harmony as it was in the days of Adam and Eve.After which time Satan will be let loose for a little while for one last shot at tempting worshippers of Jehovah away before Satan, his demons and all those who chose to side with Satan are destroyed once and for all time.
If Jehovah were to just destroy Satan, the issues raised in Eden would not be answered.Jehovah is allowing Satan sufficient time to prove that Satan cannot entice true worshippers away from following Jehovah God.

Satan tests us. Satan' objective is to turn us away from God. Satan wants NO ONE to receive salvation, be forgiven, go to Heaven. Each problem or test that Satan throws at us should actually act to make us stronger and stronger. Does pressing yourself, pressing your endurance, pressing your muscles, exercises, make you stronger? It's about the same way with resisting sin/Satan. In school, students are questioned, tested to see if/what they have learned. If there were no testing, it would be an unknown if the student had learned anything or not. If there were no tests in school---why spend the time etc. and study?? Life is sort of like that. Yeah..God IS all powerful and has shown it many times. Creation, miracles, saving man from sin just to mention a few.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Satan was an angel favored by God,the reason why he was cast out of paradise was his rebelion agaist God.When God created human beings and chose them over other beings it seemed unfair to Satan who was an angel to accept that Adam was better than him. Thus came in to the picture that primordial struggle to surrender to God or rebel agaist Him.Now satan is on a race to misery, and it is funny that he is Da boss when it come to rebellion for all atheists out there:you cant beat him at his own game.

The same reason why he didn't put us all in Heaven straight away...

To test us, this life is a test of our faith, do we believe in the right or wrong thing? Did we stick to the truth once we found it?

I don't know if you've ever noticed the universality of faith, look at people for example that are called faithless. these believe in the potential for science to make the world a better place, or to answer the questions that are important to us, or they may at least believe in looking at life with a cynical attitude

They might believe in the potential for human beings to be good to one another

But everyone has a faith of some sort, and this life tests you no matter what you believe in

For the same purpose that death exists...something to fear...so that you cling to life and wanting to be alive. The concept of Satan (evil) is a metaphorical point of reference. How would you know what "cold" was if you had never felt "hot"? The concept of God is like being a white dot in a white room, you don't experience the dot unless there is another color to hold it up to.

Because without Satan, theologans could not explain why there is evil in God's world. So, he had to be invented to protect the integrity of God. If evil can be blamed on Satan, then God's not responsible for it.

Originally, there was no Satan. It was something the Chrstians made up. In the Torah there is only "yetzer tov" (the good impulse) which makes us want to do good things, and the "yetzer ra" (the bad impulse) which makes us want to do bad things.

So the answer to your question is...
Satan doesn't exist. If he does, it is as a metaphor. So G-d would not need to kill a metaphor.

IF YOU READ THE OLD TESTAMENT YOU WILL FIND A STATEMENT ATTRIBUTED TO GOD THAT SAY'S,( para phrased)
i am the lord god and there is no other, i am the light and i am the darkness, i cause well being, and i create calamity, and i will do so until man knows i am god and GIVES TO ME THE GLORY.
" satan has NO POWER ,
WHEN MAN GIVES GLORY TO HIMSELF , AND WHEN HE DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS OR LACK THERE OF, GOD CAUSES THINGS TO HAPPEN TO MAN.

case in point the garden of Eden, when god asked Adam why, Adam said the woman made him do it, the woman said the serpent made her do it, and the serpent had lied, so god said you all in trouble. nobody would take responsibility for there own actions.

take responsibility for everything that comes your way everyday and thank god for EVERYTHING,satan has no place, he is just man's and religions excuse for not taking personal responsability for actions or lack there of.

Adam had a legal lease on the earth for 6000 years but he turned it over to satan when he bowed down to him. So satan has a legal right to be here until the lease runs out
