I'm not sure, but I think it can 'cause I took it this morning (we was out of regular tylenol) and I got a nosebleed real bad later on. Is this normal? Has it ever happened to you or anyone you know? If it can't, what are some other causes for nosebleeds. I am a minor so I don't drink or do drugs; if that has any effect on it at all. Also I am female if that had anything to do with it and it isn't the first nosebleed I've had, when I was much younger I used to wake-up covered in blood, everything soaked in it, from my nose, that happened a couple times, then stopped. Could whatever it was be coming back?? It hasn't happened in 7 years. Is there something wrong with my nose or... me?

Thanks everybody!!! I feel soooo much better that it was probably just the weather. No, we never did figure out was wrong when I was younger, but there have been no problems with it for several years. And I haven't had a nosebleed in a year or so (before today), but I'm thankful to know that weather contributes a factor in the matter. No, my blood pressure is normal so it was just probably exhaustion and weather. Is it true you are supposed to tip your head back during nose bleeds? That's what the office had me do today ( we have no school nurse because my school is new and tiny). Anyways thanks. I feel better about it now.

It's not likely that the Tylenol PM would cause a nosebleed. Tylenol does not cause thinning of the blood the way other analgesics (like aspirin or ibuprofen) will. Also, it wouldn't cause an increase in blood pressure that could trigger bleeding from a weakened blood vessel.
I'm going to guess that you live in a part of the country that is cold right now. The humidity level is very low (because cold air can't hold as much moisture as warm air) and when your furnace heats the air in your home, that dries the air even further. Breathing this dry air all night long causes the mucous membranes in your nose to dry out and allows the vessels to become a bit brittle. They break easily and bleed excessively in some cases.
Probably nothing, but if you're concerned about it, have your blood pressure checked to rule out hypertensive crisis as a cause.

Relax. You're going to be okay. The ingredient in Tylenol PM that makes you sleepy is just Benadryl. Benadryl has been around for a long time and is perfectly safe to use for a sleep aid, to lessen allergy symptoms and to make you feel less queasy when Dramamine isn't available.
Your nose probably bled because Benadryl is very DRYING. Sleep with a humidifier in the room, buy and use nasal saline, and pick up some regular Tylenol while you're at the store.
Did you ever find the cause of your nosebleeds when you were younger? Did they do a CT scan of your facial sinuses? I have problems with mine and have been through the examinations & CT scans, it's not anything to be afraid of. At least you'll know what is causing the problem.

I seriously doubt that the Tylenol caused your nosebleed. If you had said that you took a lot of aspirin, then that would have made the blood flow more freely. Typical nose bleed are due to:
Allergies, infections, or dryness that cause itching and lead to picking of the nose.
Vigorous nose blowing
Clotting disorders that run in families or are due to medications.
You may need to have the inside of one or both nostrils cauterized. Inside the nose are small blood vessels and one may be so superficial that it is easily ruptured when you sneeze, blow your nose really hard, or just bump it in the night. The procedure is simple but a bit painful. You need to see an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist (an ENT). The doctor will use liquid nitrogen, silver nitrate, or perhaps a laser to close off the superficial blood vessel(s).

Its not the Tylenol. Tylenol is acetaminophen not aspirin which could cause bleeding disorders. The PM part is benadryl which also will not cause nose bleeds. Its winter, the inside air is dry and warm this can cause nose bleeds. Get a humidifyer.

I take Tylenol PM once in a while and never have had that problem. But taking a sleeping pill in the morning and not sleeping after wards probably isn't to good either

I doubt it! Tylenol is one of the safest and most trusted pain medications on the market.

Only if you shove em up yer nose with a pencil. If you want to snort em, empty the powder out of the capsules first man.
All jokin aside, you better get right to an ENT physician.
