The kind consumed in beverages is ethanol/ethyl alchohol. Rubbing alcohol is isoproply alcohol and is not drinkable becasue it is highly irritable to your digestive tract (think lots of itching along the entire inner wall of your digestive tract). RUBBING (ISOPROPYL, IN MOST CASES) ALCOHOL WILL KILL YOU. You will probably survive ingesting a small quantity, but if you drink a glass of it, you're going to be violently, irreversibly poisoned.
I have a good friend who works in an emergency room, and she gets several people a year--either foolish children or desperate alcoholics--who start swigging out of a bottle of rubbing alcohol to face extremely unpleasant results.

I assume that's not news to anybody. The fact is that it "could cause irritation" in the digestive tract, etc. I'm sure it can irritate your tracts. It can also kill you dead.

Rubbing alcohol and isopropal alcohol is made from wood, wood alcohol will make you BLIND!! Never drink it, try cough syrup. I would not recommend the mouthwash either from the other answer, they contain substances not meant for consumption, and will at the very least give you a bad case of hershey squirts. Why don't you make a trip to a store?

Rubbing Alcohol?! You're crazy. Don't drink it.

Mouthwash will get you sick before it would ever get you drunk.

Call your local liquor store and ask them to deliver, it's worth a shot.

NO, you can not drink isoprophly alcohol... it is not the same as ethyl alcohol, the alcohol in wine, beer, and spirits. Isoprophyl is poisonous, so DO NOT DRINK IT!

Ahhh...the homeless man's champagne. You know if you filter it through a slice of bread, it's less toxic. That way, maybe (just maybe) it won't kill you, and you'll only go blind.

Go to a freakin' meeting, dude.
