It takes 2 hands to text message. You can get a headset and not have to hold the telephone to talk so that you can have both hands on the steering wheel.

Are you saying that it's safer to text message than it is to talk, I don't think so. They both cause way to many accidents. Unless it's an emergency or your trying to get some directions you shouldn't do either.

It's not the talking that is the problem it's the caller ID, dialing and holding of it. Text messaging would be worse.

Maybe because reading and typing take your eyes off of the road just a 'little' more than talking...
