I got a price from a catering company, the hall is included in the price so are taxes and grutuities (wrong spelling), as far as I know so is the DJ. For a buffett, with a 6 hour open bar, a table of fresh fruits and vegetables including dip and punch, wine and a sweets table with tea and coffee is $65 a person, so they told me it would be $6500.00 for a hundred guests.
THE BUFFET MENU IS:
Buffet #4 (Hot & Cold) (min. 50 people)
Linen, China & Silverware
Assorted Bread, Rolls and Butter
Garden Salad with Dressing
Caesar Salad
Macaroni Salad
Potato Salad
Coleslaw
Beans Salad
Steamed Mussels
Cold Meat Platters
(Black Forest Ham, Smoked Meat, Turkey & Salami)
Assorted Pastries
Hot Items
Roast Sirloin of Beef
Tortellini Alfredo
Roast Potatoes
Seasonal Vegetables
Tea and Coffee
The cake and decorations could have been included but my Grandmother makes wedding cakes, and flower arrangements, and I know alot of ppl who want to help decorate. What do you think???

This doesn't sound bad at all. Please get everything in wriitng (IF the DJ is included or not) I don't know where you are but, this is a lot for that price point. Good Luck!
I just noticed you live in Canada. I live in Medicine Hat here is a price comparison for you. the meat platters you have cost $85.00 a platter for 25 people as did the veggie platters and the pasteries were $54.00 for 25 people where I wentThe roast dinner was 19.99 per person Thats almost 3000 without the bar, wine, room fee, bevarages and sweet table. You got a good deal book quick! Also you can google Medicine Hat Lodge (not where I went but, you can see what their catering costs online just to give you a better idea of what some canadian prices are I don't know of any others with the prices online)

that is pretty standard for a caterer, especially if it includes the open bar, dj, taxes and gratuitie. Does that also include the locations, linens, tableware? Many caterers charge $30-$50 per person without providing ANY of the above mentioned items. A 6 hour open bar itself could cost you $1500 - $2000 for 100 people.

before everything, CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming nuptials! I wish you and your fiancé an entire life of affection and exhilaration at the same time! Weddings are so high priced those days! Yours certainly appears like an exceedingly stable deal simply by fact it includes the value of the corridor and the open bar. (And if it includes the DJ too...wow!) Couple of issues formerly you sign the settlement: ascertain this is in writing that the corridor and the open bar are coated. meaning you will not get charged better...exceedingly the open bar. i've got seen it ensue the place the couple signed a settlement *questioning* the open bar replaced into coated, whether it wasn't. They have been given a bill later for the better. it would be a stable theory, too, to ask precisely what the bar coated and how lots. yet another couple i understand had an open bar which replaced into coated of their settlement, yet they did not examine the fantastic print. someplace in tiny print replaced right into a clause approximately what replaced into meant with the aid of "open bar." Any volume over that which replaced into unique interior the settlement replaced into billed after the fact. And the priority with this is that when you're partying at your reception, there's no way you may save track of how lots all and sundry is eating. An unscrupulous organization would desire to can charge you a buttload extra for drinks that weren't certainly under the impact of alcohol. that's what occurred with my pals. So ascertain this is unique interior the settlement that open bar means "ANY volume" that's fed on during the reception. yet another undertaking to verify interior the settlement is that the value does not comprise the cake or decorations. on account which you're offering this with the aid of different means, in simple terms determine you at the instant are not getting charged with the aid of the reception corridor. constantly examine each scrap of verbiage in any settlement formerly you sign it. Ask the corridor in case you have an afternoon or so with the settlement formerly signing it. this is better to have time to bypass interior the path of the settlement at a leisurely %., fairly than interior the revenues place of work the place tension and time constraints would desire to reason you to skim the settlement and omit some considered necessary info. those info would desire to land up costing you lots in extras. stable success to you and function a surprising social gathering!

Our daughter got married last year in Ontario, Canada. I think the price you are saying is reasonable. You mentioned that it included an open bar for 6 hours, plus wine, and the cost of the room. I think it is a very reasonable rate. Congratulations!

It sounds good but you absolutely have to sample some of their food. It might be really cheap and gross. It might be just fine but you don't want to pay for terrible food. See if they have references or better yet ask a question here with the name of the place and see if anyone has been to a reception there. Absolutely meet the dj and make sure his style is suitable for your guests.

I think that's pretty pricey. Don't forget, you still have to pay for other things, like a gown, and the flowers, and decorations, and invitations, photography, and lots of other things. Don't be quick to assume that your friends and family will pay for things, even if they do help you to put things together.
Also, we paid for a catered meal for our daugher. That did NOT include the DJ, nor the booze, nor the bartenders.

It sounds to me like that's a really good deal, considering it also includes the open bar. Make sure you sample the food beforehand, though--you want to make sure it's yummy! Congratulations!!
