"I was wondering if you would like to go see a movie with me sometime? What type of movies do you like to go see?" If you like him and want him to like you, then take him to "his kind" of movie.

just make a phone call to him...or talk to him by face to face..
ask he out for the movie cos u r very love that movie,... but without the partner... see wat's his reaction / respond....
