It is because women in the USA are not allowed to go into combat.

I know that it is a stupid excuse, but most people would believe that if you are a woman, you couldn't have seen combat. I guess they don't remember that there have been quite a few women killed in action in the last 3 years from the USA.

My hats off too you and to every man and woman who is serving in the military of any country. You put duty to your country above your personal safety and all should be rewarded with praise. I served 20 years in the Navy and enjoyed working with women. There were quite a few that could run circles around me, and they taught me a few things, and visa versa.
The world would be a better place if all of us would look past the color or our skin, or the gender in the uniform, or the person on our arm. Not only would there be less fighting, there would be more work getting done.
And for those of you in Canada, Great job. I worked with many Canadians on joint exercises and I was always impressed with their professionalism and dedication. This goes for all of the countries including Nato countries that I served with.

Bravo Zulu!!!

Leahanna, who already lived in North America before Christopher Columbus 'discovered' the Americas?
Don't they teach you about the First Nations in your school?

Pauline, I have never assumed anything about you because you are a female. If you have been in combat, then do what the men do, write about it and tell us. You will have me as an interested reader. Not only the English, but the French, and the Spanish explored (a better term) the Americas. If you truly think that the Americans are the most egotistical (note the spelling) 'people who want to rule the world', that is your opinion. Personally, I think you need to focus on what you truly want to say, and I admire Americans like William T. Sherman and George H. Thomas, even if they were 'egotistical'. Now tell us about your combat experience....

YOU are correct a lot of people in the USA want to rule the world...not all of us only the small minded and arrogant! I trully believe that you have seen combat!I hope you keep an open mind about us Americans not all of us are like that! It is a stereotype that Americans have earned and I hope changes for the better some day!Thank you for serving in the military and in combat!

I would like to ask you to expand on your combat experience too. The most fighting I ever saw was in the NAAFI bar. Very well done, certainly something to be proud of. Eric the Red from Norway discovered America well before Columbus, he had two Scottish slaves with him, the woman was a better runner than the man and brought back edible berries from the interior, in case you were interested
