Only if you have the right to refuse the class if you don't want to take it. Otherwise, no it is not a good idea. School age kids can be easily misdirected to the path others want.

yes it is good to have world religion classes- in fact if every religion was taken seriously as well as the theory of evolution then uneducated people would become more educated in these fields of study. If the whole world was able to have these great opportunities like in USA and Canada that would be something. People would not attack each other with venom in their words and thoughts. Unfortunately for mankind, this is not how the world will ever truly be.

I have no problem with it if it is done objectively to help students to be more tolerant of others fait, and not to convert.

Actually I think it is a good idea. I most of the judgemental people here on Y/A had taken such a course, this may be a more friendly place.

I also think classes should be offered to help accept other cultures and lifestyles also.

I don't think it is a good Idea. I am a deeply spiritual person and believe we should all come to an understanding of God. But the public school system is taxed enough. To be unbiased ALL religions would have to get equal time and then the many different doctrines of the many different religions. Just getting the system to acknowledge God would be nice

It could be interesting. I think if more of the world really KNEW about other religions there would be less fighting about such petty things because the basic concepts of most are the same.

I've never taken such a class, but I can imagine that it would be full of heavy debates, and that you should only join if you enjoy such things.

It is a very good idea to learn about religions all over the world. One day you may want to travel and it's nice to worship God wherever you are and to see and know how others do it. It's also nice to get to know our Heavenly Father and probably you will find Him through one of these Religions. Why don't you try it.?

I think it's a wonderful idea. I've taken classes where they've touched on certain world religions, but I think it would benefit anyone to take a whole course on the subject. Go for it!

I am in one at this point in time. I'm in a college level, and can tell you it is essentially comparative religion, as well as reading parts of various Holy Texts [Right now, we are in the Rig Vedas.].

I would take it if you enjoy debating beliefs, and studying religion. Also, if you want to delve into the Occult [I don't know how your Satanist beliefs are compared to mine, but I'll say it anyway,] it is very good at helping to understand universal concepts [Including Qabalah, and Hermetics.]

I believe they should, as long as they can prevent certain faiths from witnessing.

Great idea if the teacher is not prejudice or leans heavy towards one religion. If it is a teacher of one religion it wont work or an atheist won't work either. They use to do it in England I don't know if they still do. go to stephen-knapp. for e-book Towards World Peace, Seeing the Unity Between us all.

Sounds like a fine idea to me; most people could stand to be more educated about the beliefs of peoples around the world.
