The US should stay in Iraq long enough to not only provide security for the country as their military gets better, but we need to bring investment into the country, business, and education.
Critical infrastructure is being repaired all the time, here. We are going to continue to repair and replace that. As the security situation permits, we will continue our relationship in business and education, as well.
This is the best way to protect our interests and help Iraq.
By the way, it will mean a commitment of troops to this country for the next generation, at least.

Jose, I honestly believe that we shouldn't be in Iraq to begin with. But to answer your question, I believe that we should not send anymore troops over there the people are afraid as it is.
Secondly, I think we should clean up the mess we've made and then get the heck out of there. The Iraqi Goverment is unstable, so I think we should let them solve their all problems.

This isn't an answer, but merely an observation.
"Your options are severely limited once you've driven the car off the cliff."
I don't know what to do now, but if the nation would've shown a little more restraint when the "war cheerleaders" were doing their dance, our car would still be on the road, not over the cliff.
Thanks.

I don't know what interests we have in Iraq other than the concern about having our service men and women there in real danger. We should be helping get our people back to the U.S. and let Iraq fight it out for themselves.

Slowly establish some kind of law/peace keeping regiment whilst rebuilding the damage already done. Get running water and food and especially hospitals. At the same time incremently return American troops and replace them with trained (equipped) Iraqi servicemen. Let's try to get more of them on our side.

And what do you consider to be "our interests" in Iraq.
We invaded their country looking for a mirage/ We flattened
their cities/killed and mutilated their people/killed their children/
totally devastated their country/ got 3,000 of our men killed
during retaliation to our occupation of a country that never
harmed us. Stop believing the propaganda you hear on TV
and radio and tune into the truth. Talk to our soldiers via the
web and find out the truth..

kill anyone who looks suspicious....but that would only lead to more war on our troops.
um.....there is no answer to your question. if there was we wouldnt be in the mess we are in a;lready. face it, muslims arent gonna let US help em without them killing US troops. so what do we do in my opinion... leave Iraq to solve it self. there are countless nations outhere that are living with this kind of problem, you just dont hear about it. so just leave em alone. whos gonna come to the US and say to Americans 'you people are BAD!!!' no one beats up on muslims who kill troops just to do it. why should we care. Bush should have never went to this war in the first place and he needs to be impeached and hanged on national T.V.
